Quality product from a well established company
I needed a well made surge protector for my expensive equipment and the Tripp Lite was really the best available for my needs. First, the box is sturdy metal and well made; second the outlets are all made and and all create a positive contact to the plugs for strong retention without being overly difficult to insert or unplug the connection. It has a positive position switch for turning all four outlets off/on. Lastly, the model I received has three indicator lights for indicating power on, ground protection and potential tripped state. Overall I think it's the best power splitter for expensive equipment especially if you'd rather pass on the typical plastic power strips sold for office devices. I purchased my first Tripp Lite power strip more than 20 years ago and it still works like it did when new. Interestingly it has the same features my new one does, if it works why mess with the design? Not sure the cheaper alternatives sold today will match the performance and protection of a Tripp Lite box.

Last one gave up after 12 months of use - warranty not honored -- Second one died after 4 weeks !
Used the first one for 2 x 6 summer months. Worked fine and then died this year. Tried multiple times to get an RMA from the Tripp lite canadian web site because it is supposed to have lifetime warranty and insurance. Never got any reply from them. I bought a second one a few weeks ago: It died after 4 weeks. I'm returning it. Don't buy this brand, they don't keep their engagements and do not provide customer service.

A great product that I would recommend to anyone looking for a powerstrip.
I have been a long standing fan of the Tripp Lite Isobar powerstrips. I feel like in the modern era where everything is made out of plastic, it's occasionally refreshing to buy a product made with a steel case. So in terms of look and feel the quality of the product is great. In terms of its functionality, there are two positives that prompt me to buy this product again and again. The first is that each of the outlets is spaced far enough from each other that you can plug in a power adapter into each one of them without worrying about covering up another outlet. So with this powerbar there is no more wasted unused plug space. The second thing going for this product is in it's name, Isobar. Each pair of plugs is isolated from every other pair. What does this mean do you ask? Well what caused me to buy this product originally was that I had a computer for which I bought a set of high end desk speakers. Being lazy I didn't want to turn them on whenever I turned the computer on. Well due to the fact that I built a gaming computer that draws alot of power, it would cause the speakers to "pop" whenever I turned the computer on due to the brief power surge it creates. However, once I bought the Isobar this problem pretty much went away as the speakers were plugged into a different set of plugs that the computer was on the Isobar and since each set is "isolated" from each other and the surge the computer creates was isolated from the speakers. For those less lazy, it is still a great product as the capacitors filter still filter your power and provide cleaner energy which will allow your electronics to perform at their best every time you use them.

Filters work!
This is a good surge protector, but the main reason I got it was to kill electrical interference, and it does that perfectly. I ended up buying a second one for my office because I liked it so much. I have a treadmill desk and work on the computer while I walk. As I eventually found out, most lower end treadmills use a motor design that can put out a fair amount of electrical interference. This totally killed throughput on my internet connection for anything streaming. It took me a long time to figure this out--I tried everything else, including getting comcast out to run new lines and everything to the house (sorry guys). Anyway, I plugged the treadmill into the tripplite isobar and presto, no more dropped packets or infinite ping times on my internet connection. Now, even though it says "isolated filter banks" there is a bit that leaks through if you plug the noisy device and the sensitive device both into the tripplite. So I end up plugging the treadmill into this, and my sensitive devices into another outlet. One important note, DON'T USE THE INCLUDED OUTLET COVERS. The tripplite comes with these outlet covers that plug into unused outlets, like child safe covers. I have kids so I plugged one cover in. Later I tried to remove it and one of the plastic tips broke off in the outlet. SO now I have only 3 functional outlets. Moreover, the 4th outlet is not child safe even though partly blocked since the unblocked slot is the live wire. If any of you have a bright idea for removing the broken plastic tip from the outlet, I'm all ears. I am not taking a star off since you don't have to use them with the product. But for the love of Tesla, throw them out!
