Great purchase
Great quality. The brightness is very good also in day light. The image quality is very good even when projecting on the wall. The sound is fantastic. No need to connect with another sound bar. The only thing that should be taken in account is that this projector projects from bottom to top. Initially I put it on a high shelf and the image was viewed on the ceiling.

Great projector and customer service
The projector was delivered quickly and the picture is very bright and quick to navigate around the operating system. I was going to purchase the Halo+ but then thought how portable do I really need it as just using it in the garden mainly! Iโm glad I purchased the Horizon instead. itโs bright enough to use in the garden before the sun has fully set and still compact enough to make it portable, just running it to mains power. I am only projecting the picture against a wall at the moment but itโs still very good. Iโm doing my research into the best outdoor screen. The picture shown is just against a wall during the day indoors, but you can see how bright It is. The auto keystone, focus is really good and makes it more portable as it configures itself and therefore handy when you move it around all the time. The only negative part is around the app support for Netflix, iPlayer and Rakuten. You can get Netflix to work and iPlayer but not Rakuten. Might end up getting a streaming stick to sort that out though. Still doesnโt distract from a awesome projector at a reasonable price. Overall, we are very happy and because itโs so bright and configures the picture automatically it makes movie night in the garden so simple.

Good projector - but use Apple TV or similar
This WILL work without being connected to the internet so long as you use something like an Apple TV - but it does require a connection initially to set it up. I was really cautious about how good this would be - but in fact it is excellent. Great picture quality, and even the audio is decent. More than bright enough for evening watching - you do NOT need a pitch black room, we use it with side lights and itโs fine. Itโs bright enough that you can even get a functional picture from it in daylight. In a north facing room (eg no direct sunlight) the picture is watchable, just. But obviously youโre unlikely to want to use it like that. You could, however, present in a meeting room using it, for example, so long as itโs relatively close to the screen (a couple of meters). The picture quality under that use will not be spectacular but will be good enough for a presentation. Wasnโt keen on the fact that it tried again and again to get me to create or link a Google account and other accounts. I donโt know this brand and donโt want to give it access like that. I connected it with Ethernet to get it set up, then disconnected it from the internet entirely, connected my Apple TV via HDMI and use that to control viewing. The remote that you have to use to control the projector is really bad - in a darkish room you canโt tell one button from another. Worst physical UI Iโve seen on a remote in a while. Menus are relatively straight forward and easy to understand. Not nearly as noisy as I had thought it might be from other reviews. Thereโs a fan, but itโs not intrusive. Itโs a good size - easy to pop on a shelf, not too heavy. Will ultimately mount on ceiling, but for now easy to move around. Havenโt suffered from lag when viewing, but am only watching relatively slow moving things - not using it for gaming or action movies. For a first projector, and for what I paid I am very happy - the gripes above are minor.

So far - really impressed!
It's early days having just bought this but so far I'm blown away with this projector. We have a bedroom that doesnt really have anywhere suitable for a decent sized tv and the wife has often said she'd like a tv in the bedroom, so I had been looking into projectors as an option for a while. I actually stumbled across the XGIMI Horizon after seeing a product/sponsored video by Photographer/YouTuber Alen Palander, who did a YouTube video on the XGIMI Horizon Pro - which looked amazing, so I started to research further. With all the research I did, there were mixed reviews and quite a number of complaints about no Netflix available on the projector which was a concern - as thats what we watch the most (it's not an issue by the way - there are simple workarounds). I was also torn between buying the Pro or the Standard but after enough reading, I felt the additional ยฃ600 wasnt worth it for the Pro - which comes as 4K, so I opted for the standard Full HD and with that saving, I bought a really good quality projector screen, which I love so far too. Just to note that I got the XGIMI stand for this also, which has a piivot/swivel connection, that means you can set the vertical angle for the projector and fix in place - so no need to prop up on books or anything which I think is best for a semi-permanent position. I also bought a seperate dust cover as well, as the lens has no protection via a cap or anything like that, so I think the slip on dust cover is worth getting to protect the lens from anything, as well as the rest of the unit from dust. The sound is good quality but I do see us buying additional surround sound speakers at some point in the future. Im very aware of the sound, because the projector is next to my side of the bed, so the sound, although good quality - isnt immersive in that position but it would be absolutely fine if it was central to the viewing position - ie on a coffee table or tripod in front of, or behind a sofa for example. Start up time is really quick, set up was easy, navigating the screens has been easy so far too. We got Netflix installed easily enough through in-built apps (although programmes wont pause for us on Netflix using the workaround) and I understand we could also just stick an Amazon Stick into the projector and watch Netflix that way too but have not tried that yet. If you are considering this or the 4k Pro version, the standard would be my choice based on the standard Full HD being good enough for me and the fact that I was able to get a great screen, dust cover, stand etc and still able to save money rather than buyingthe Pro. I was also a bit worried about some reviews that mentioned the upscaling of FullHD sources to 4k wasnt very good and I dont think we actually have that many 4k sources yet anyway. I would have loved the chance to test run the Pro first to see how it was for myself but wasnt prepared to order one, pay the money and go through the returns process if I didnt like it and just felt it wasnt offering enough to justify paying so much more than the standard. Hopefully this helps anyone researching their options and happy to answer any questions if asked.

Excellent projector
Absolutely excellent projector. Crystal clear image. Auto focus works very well. Build quality is excellent and looks premium, especially with the stand. Really hits above its price point. Highly recommend this to anyone.

Lower your expectations
If you expect this to be a TV replacement, lower your expectations. Yes, it turns on quickly, you can add a fire stick and watch your Netflix/etc, it has a large screen even on small distances. But it won't be able to compete with a TV in the morning. The brightness is rated as 2000 lumens. Which is bright enough to be able to watch during the day, but not nearly enough to enjoy it. Embedded Netflix App doesn't work. Which is apparently Netflix fault? Very strange. Maybe has something to do with DRM, but how come I can watch it in the browser no problem? Even in the dark room, there's an opposite problem. The lamp is so bright that there's a light leaking. So the black is actually grey. You would probably need a black or gray projector screen to enjoy higher contrast. I expected more from a 1000 pounds device. It looks like the technology is still not there for it to be a full-time TV replacement. But still a great device for occasional movie nights.

Ok for the price, has several drawbacks
Priced a bit high for what it is, this is still quite a basic projector. Maybe they charge more for brand, though I don't know how "strong" this brand is in the market... I use it to watch vidoes in a small room (3-4 meters projection distance). Projection size is not bad and brightness is good. Picture quality and colors are good (considering it's not 4K). Sound quality is also very nice and it's good to have a projector with Smart capabilities and decent sound all in one package, and it's not too big either. However, I did find issues: 1. Does NOT play Netflix by default! You have to use 2 dodgy 3rd party apps to make it work (after this, it does work thogh, but there's not telling when Netflix will disable this option). 2. Projection angle is fixed and biased heavily upwards 3. Geometery adjustments are applied within the projection area so if you have to use them, you "lose" quite a lot of area (this is not unique of course, but improtant to note). 4. It's cooling fan is quite audible. Its noise is not very annoying, but noticable.

Excellent HD projector
The image from this projector is superb! bright and sharp even for extremely large projections. The set up is easy and quick. The sound is excellent, probably due to the Harmon Kardon speakers. I went for the HD version rather than the 4K version and I'm pleased with my purchase. Downsides are few, notably the lack of Netflix, but apparently there is a work-around for that if you watch any of the online reviews, which I do recommend you do before purchasing. Overall very happy.
