Will this cut through 1/2" mild steel plate?

My husband has a saw at work. He cut thru a 3/4 " plate. With a new blade he was cutting at about an 1" to an 1 1/2" a minute. Battery life will depend on battery size.

"Batteries: 1 Lithium ion batteries required. (included)" - but also says "(Tool only - battery sold separately)."?

Mine came "Tool Only" no battery. I bought a bare tool. That means no batteries, chargers......
