Beautifully simple well made with a back story. Great field watch for the price. Highly Recommended
I'm a watch Nerd with over 50 watches and this one has quickly become one of my top 5, 'go to' watches. If I lost it I would buy another one. Highly recommended as a practical and understated daily watch.ProsWell made with good brushing and polishing for the price.Crystal clear mineral glass. At this price sapphire crystal tend to be low quality and they do not show off the dial as well as mineral crystal.great luminosity in dark conditions. I have worn the watch overnight and can still read the time as the sun rises. the hands and dial also look cool in any low light situation.Small diameter so fits any wrist.Cheap but reliable Miyota mechanical movement. Mine is running at about -1 second per day (this is within Rolex territory). In general you have a very good chance of landing one that is within +/- 10 seconds a day. It can be much worse, so you could just send it back if you are not satisfied.Single pull on the winder enables the time to be reset (it hacks so second hand stops). Winder movement feels tight and smooth when you change time, or manually wind the watch.Fantastic simple and clear dial that has its own beautify in its simplicity. It oozes fuss-free understated competence. You are buying a watch with a back story (Bulova supplied watches to the American Marines during WW2 and they looked much like this). If you buy the special then you are also supporting ex-service personnel.Strap seems a bit flimsy, but in fact after 2 months I haven't changed it as it is very comfortable and still looks like new.Disappears on the wrist due to its size and comfort. One of the best true field watches around this price (you need to go to a Hamilton Khaki field for a jump in quality (but no necessarily in style or comfort).Matches any style from jeans and tee shirt to more formal clothing.consOnly 50 metres water resistance.some may find the strap a bit flimsy. It is quite a thick watch, but to me its small diameter doesn't make its thickness noticeable when wearing it.The rotor in the movement that winds the watch can be heard when the watch is close to your ears.

A classic that has poise, quality and class!
I liked the Bulova heritage design of this watch. It's similar but not an absolute replica of the A-11 Type watches made for the armed forces in the US during WW2. It's face is closer to the slightly later A-17 Bulova. The feature that made them so useful to soldiers was the 'Hack' function. The ability to stop the second sweep hand to 'synchronise' a units watches . Bulova were one of the original suppliers of the WW2 Hack watch. This one lacks the sub dial but it still has a great historic 'field watch ' design. I picked this little beauty up for £200 from another seller... worth shopping aroundThe watch is very well made from good materials. The Myiota automatic movement is tried and trusted. you can also hand wind it. You can't overwind it as it has a clutch which stops over-winding. gently winding it is a positive pleasure. The dial printing , hands and face in general is very pleasing. Crisp and great quality. The watch strap is excellent quality with nice metal hardware. The buckle is imprinted with 'Bulova' and the crown has a Bulova tuning fork trade mark symbol on it.It's just a little over sized of the original A-11/A-17 watches but this is not an issue.it looks good on the wrist, if a little thick for such a small watch at 39mm. The double domed crystal is nice. It imparts a distortion at the very edge which i find quite pleasing and interesting.I wear this watch from my collection most days. it keeps excellent time... +/- 5 seconds. The ONLY thing that possibly lets this watch down is the lume performance. It's quite satisfactory but not in the same class as a Seiko 5 or Luminox. After about 5 hours it's almost faded out. No matter, as I tend to wear this watch during the day and switch-out to my Luminox Sentry 200 at night. All in all it's one of the better quality WW2 homage / field watches out there. There are many rubbish watches that claim to be based on the WW2 Hack watch. Avoid most of them and just buy this one!I'd recommend it. I've had mine for about 18 months so far and had no problems with it in that time.Update I just bought the Quartz version of this watch. Same great quality as the auto version, just the case is slimmer! and i got it for £100 NEW on special offer..

Men's Bulova Military VWI Special Edition AUTOMATIC NOT QUARTZ
Cannot understand why people are moaning about accuracy on an automatic watch. If you want quartz accuracy buy a quartz watch. You will not get spot on accuracy in a mechanical watch unless you spend thousands of pounds…
