I love the comments that ileostomy output smells “horrid.” What else is it to smell like? Secondly, I wanna know why one barrier is $50. Highway robbery.Get the rock-and-roll closure. Can’t tell you how many times I dropped that damn clip in the toilet in the middle of the night…you don’t have a choice of if you wake up with a puffer fish; you know the if you know.

I don't know why it doesn't specify, but these bags do not have a filter at all (meaning you'll need to 'burp' your bag frequently so it doesn't balloon out) and have a clamp that closes the sleeve at the bottom. The sleeve itself is flimsy and difficult to clean, so expect some odor and residue.

Since I don't have much choice in whether to use these things or not use them I'd have to say they do what they are designed to do. However, it is difficult to get them to "snap into place" with the ring which is held to my skin by adhesive. Also, twice within a week I have had them develop leaks around where they are supposed to snap into place and the odor that escaped due to the leaks was horrid. They are also just too dang big. Not sure if Hollister makes a small size but I'm sure going to find out. As to "draining" them, forget it. Smelliest, nastiest task on planet Earth. Just through them away is what I recommend when they start to get even partly full.

No problems
