Where can I get the replacement brew basket stem ? Mine broke.

Don't know but you may want to check Amazon or with manufacturer.

probably a dumb question but can you fill it half way and just brew 4 cups? We would never drink 8 cups of coffee

They are not 8 oz. Cups. They measure 6 oz. cups. So I usually fill it and it fills 2 large mugs.

can this coffee pot be used on a ceramic cooktop?

It can be used on a glass cooktop....is ceramic different? I can't see any problem, as the pot is all glass.

This is an 8 cup, but is it filling mugs or tiny tea cups?

Dear customer, thanks for being interested in our product. I believe that based on the size of the coffee maker ,you can compare the cups. However, It is advised as filling 8 coffee cups.
