2019 Q7 fits & works great!
I was skeptical after reading reviews. I did not think that it was going to work but figured for $170 it was worth a try. I'm so glad I purchased this. It was tough installing and getting the trim to fit BUT it does fit and it looks great. The set up was easy, app is great, video quality is excellent. The instructions were very clear on what wire goes where. I knew which wire it was. I would definitely recommend and I'm happy I bought this. I did upgrade the micro sd card to 256 GB. It comes with 64GB.

Like everyone says installation is rough. It's the wires man. If you can I pulled them so that the big connector you plug your rain sensor to goes under the last piece of trim your putting it. Once I did that it was effortless, instead of trying to fit the wire under the second piece of trim which I think everyone does, stretch it out and do it under the last big piece. App feels cheap but it doesn't feel bad, I was able to connect to my wifi no issues. I was able to see the video and my 3 min video ( that's what I have my duration set to) downloaded almost immediately to the app. So maybe they have an update? But I've had no issues so far. It looks great you can't even tell theres a dash cam. I like it so far. Fit perfectly on my car.

Get an extra set of plastic tools and read the printed WIFi info that comes in the box!!!
Removing the existing plastic pieces is impossible with the single plastic trim removal tool included in the box. After spending somthing like three hours trying to remove the third and last part, I got a $20 plastic tool kit from the local autoparts store and removed that last piece in 2 minutes. Rest of the install was OK, but it does require some dexterity. Also, the WiFi ID the units uses to link to the phone app is... bizarre? I would never have guessed which one it was (even if listed in the phone's Settings screen) it until I found a piece of paper in the box that listed it, as well as the rather trivial password. Armed with that, App works O.K. Color is not the best but useable. Also, make sure you clean the inside of the windshield for a good bit around the lens - it is such a wide angle lens that you can see smudges as far as 5 inches away (I guess it is a good thing - also, the image is not too deformed for such a wide angle coverage). Default "take" length on 1 min is too short IMHO - I set it to 5 minutes.

Ran great for 10 minutes!
Installed in my wife's Q5 - as others have noted the install is frustrating, but actually not quite as bad as I feared. Anyway, got it installed, got the app, powered right on, found the wifi signal with my iphone, and it connected right up. Good picture, app had good features. I changed the wifi name and password, and then called my wife out all excited to show her that it was working. She too got the app, found the wi-fi signal (with the new wifi name), connected right up, and as she was looking at the images, it disconnected. No wifi signal, no power light on the bottom, resetting does nothing. I think it died (or it blew a circuit breaker but then everything else near the rear view mirror/rain sensor/surround cam still works). I'm completely dumbfounded. It lasted for 10 minutes. I've seen bad products but this takes the cake. Even if it was faulty and the company responds (which I don't expect), the thought of trying to uninstall it and then reinstall it with the impossible to disconnect wiring harness, is a nonstarter. I guess I just drive around with a dead, $169 dash cam in the car. A really, really unbelievable piece of garbage.

Best option for a factory look.
I installed this in my 2024 Q8 etron. it is excellent and it truly looks factory. Install is not as bad as some people have reviewed. I'm pretty experienced with car installs and removing trim etc. If you have experience or are mechanically inclined it's pretty simple. If you're not, it's going to be difficult. Install took me about an hour. Disassembly is easy. I went from back to front. Large part just pops off. Go for the seam on the middle two parts and it will separate easily. Last part (one that gets replaced) should be spread apart at the top (two spudgers work well on either side) and then pull it straight down towards dash. Assembly is pretty straightforward. Cable from camera gets in the way so there is some fiddling around to be done. Camera part inserts straight up. If you don't get a positive click cable is in the way. Neoprene gasket on top should contact windshield. Center trim piece is trickiest here and I found if the cable goes behind clips towards windshield it is the easiest. Parts interface well and excessive force should not be required. If you feel yourself really having to force things together something is off - likely the cable in the way. Just fiddle it around and you'll eventually get it. Final large trim piece is simple. I would test camera before fully assembling. Pairing with wifi also reasonably easy if you are familiar with the process in general. Here's the rub. If your car uses wireless CarPlay etc it's going to try to kick you off the camera's wifi every 30 seconds or so. You need to select the Audi MMI wifi in the settings (iPhone) and deselect auto connect. This will allow you to check camera and configure it correctly - you can reselect auto connect when you are done. You're going to need to do this whenever you access camera via wifi. This means that wireless CarPlay and this camera don't really play nice together. If you anticipate viewing the dash cam on your phone while driving around you are going to need to stay disconnected from cars wifi services. You could do this by using wired CarPlay I guess but who wants to do that? I will just use it as a discrete camera and pull the card if there is ever a need to retain footage. Image is good and it looks great - truly almost factory. You can see a little bit poking beneath mirror from drivers perspective but not bad at all. Overall the best option for a factory look dash cam for your Audi.

Almost Perfect (2024 Q8 e-tron)
As stated by many, installation can be a pain because of how tight the OEM cover is. Once that is out of the way, installing the cam and connecting the pigtail is a breeze. Three complaints I have (could be easily updated via firmware) - The blue 'recording' light is very annoying and distracting at night and cannot be turned off or dimmed. - There is no clear way to save video footage; when you press the snapshot button, it just saves a still picture (there is no audio confirmation). - Connecting to the camera is impossible if you use Apple CarPlay wirelessly. I hope the manufacturer can correct these in a firmware update; this is a solid dashcam overall.

Seamless OEM-Style Dash Cam for Audi RS Q8 – Super Easy Install
I bought the Fitcamx 4K Dash Cam specifically for my Audi RS Q8 because I wanted something clean and factory-looking instead of a bulky windshield-mounted camera. This was exactly what I was hoping for. Installation was surprisingly simple. It fit perfectly into the existing housing near the mirror and looked completely OEM once installed. No messy wires hanging down and no complicated routing, which is a huge plus on a vehicle like the RS Q8 where you don’t want to ruin the interior aesthetic. Video quality is excellent in both day and night driving. The 4K footage is clear, license plates are readable, and the app connection works smoothly for reviewing clips. It powers on automatically with the car and has been very reliable with no glitches or connection issues so far. What I like most is that it blends in so well you almost forget it’s there, while still giving you the protection of a high-quality dash cam. If you drive an Audi (especially RS models) and want a clean, factory-style solution that installs easily and works consistently, this is a fantastic choice

Works perfectly in my 2024 SQ5
Okay, I’ve hooked up a few dash cams in my time. This is the first one I’ve installed that actually looks OEM to the car and functions seamlessly with existing cables and trim. If you’re doing this for the first time, it comes with a plastic pry tool, which I can’t recommend enough because you will break something if you try using a screwdriver only. That said, if you have large fingers, you may have a hard time with that rain sensor plug.. it’s pretty small. Once you get everything snapped back together, it’s crazy how good everything looks, plus it comes with a 64gb micro sd card. I went with 128gb since it shoots 4k and those files tend to be on the larger side. All said and done, the app was easy to use and set up, install took maybe 25 minutes, and the value is definitely there when you weigh ease of use, OEM look, and functionality. If you end up going a different route, good luck! Those headliners are so tight, its gonna be harder to snake a 12’ long cable to your fuse box.
