I have a few watches that have screw on backs. This tool is the ideal type for working on these types of watches. However one can only expect so much at this price point. The adjustment wheel to set the prong spacing is sloppy in action and as such is easy to brush against and inadvertently throw the spacing out of adjustment. The so-called vise doesn't do thick watch cases well at all, and even has problems holding onto thinner cases. But it still wasn't too difficult getting the back of each watch off when using this tool set, though it would've been sweeter without the annoyances. 3 1/2 stars, rounded up to 4...I suppose.

I bought this to replace the battery in my Scubapro 50 Anniversary dive watch (made by Citizen I believe). Although it's a bit difficult to get the pins properly aligned (they don't lock and are easy to move during use) it was exactly what I thought it would be: inexpensive but good enough for occasional use. It didn't break while removing my dive watch's back and didn't damage the watch. I changed the battery, put the tools back in their bag and put it away for the next time that I need to change the battery in a year or so.

The wrench spacing was too wide for my watch, which is one inch in diameter. The smallest wrench spacing was about two inches (can’t say exactly since I returned it). I took it to a watch repair fellow and he used a much more substantive tool. I asked him initially if he had a tool I could buy. He said “no” but then showed me the same tool on Amazon and I told him the problem.

Of all the worthless crap I've purchased on Amazon, this thing takes first place. It holds nothing, it removes nothing, it does nothing. Into the trash it goes. When will I ever learn?

I have a watch that for the last 2 weeks used everything possible to open the back. This includes the intimating 3watch pin remover, pliers, hairdryer, and whatever else came to mind and nothing worked. Along came the 2 pins adjustable opener and with a little pressure, squeaking as it turned, my back of the watch opened.Amazing!!
