Easy to read
I don't know if this is a different version compared to the ones we had at school/growing up; but it's much easier to read than what I remembered. I suppose all bibles have been re-written and reinterpreted over time, but I haven't found any anti-LGBT, misogynistic, or otherwise disagreeable interpretations yet. (I'm only halfway through Mathew so far.)What's so great about having a kindle version is it's searchable.

The Holy Bible in clear and simple to understand English
I wanted an English Standard Version of the Holy Bible to go with the New International Version I also have on my Amazon Kindle making cross-referencing between the two a simple two tap process. The ESV is an even easier to understand version of the NIV, comparable to the Good News Bible which I have in hard back copy.

A good reference Bible
A lot of thought has been put into this 'literal' translation of the Bible. This short review is about the kindle version. Now firstly I should mention that I have been reading this Bible on the All-New Kindle Paper white. Bibles are often not read from cover to cover and zipping about from one chapter to another, or indeed one book to another book in the Bible is not always that easy on a kindle.Admittedly, most of the credit is probably due to the kindle version I am using but the design and layout of the ebook certainly deserves a lot of credit. The references are simple to access, appearing in a popup window, which closes after you have read it to return you to the page you were on before. This makes a good study Bible. However, if you want something that you can use in church to quickly get to the several passages being referred to during the talk then try the New International version of the eBook editionĀ ]. It will cost you a few dollars but it is well worth it and even faster to navigate than a paper Bible [http://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R2O05YSO66XW99/ref=cm_cr_pr_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B005IYICEO&linkCode=&nodeID=&tag=].

Good translation but difficult to follow on the Kindle.
There's no problem with this Bible download, it's just quite time consuming to search for a particular passage on the Kindle, much easier using a book. In the future the Kindle may have a voice command application.

Very easy to find chapter and verse from index at front ...
The most accurate literal translation of the original books of Scripture available in English. Very easy to find chapter and verse from index at front of ebook. Adding notes allow me to personalise, edit as I learn more and make connections between books etc. I have tried every translation over the years ad this is the best literal one while still allowing easy readability. It can make a real difference to understanding a verse when you can read what God intended.

Very readable and clear translation
An excellent translation (though I'm no theologian). The Gospels (that's all I've read so far) are very readable and contain some material I've never seen in the King James version. One thing to watch out for: the text is peppered with links to footnotes etc., and it's all too easy to hit one of them inadvertently when you meant to go forward or back a page - with the result that suddenly you're lost and have to go to the Contents to recover where you were . . .

Like the ESV version.
I do like the ESV version its so easy to read and obviously it is a great life changing book , but i found the kindle version a little hard to use as a reference tool ....so i ordered a physical one with larger print than my old one.........still useful to take anywhere on my ipad though so nothing lost.
