We love our Drink-Mate
I am a soda person. While everyone else is making coffee at work, I'm at the soda machine. When everyone else is drinking sweet tea, I'm ordering coke. I love the tingling bubbles and the sharp, acidic taste that it adds to everything. I suspect my blood is fizzy! But I'm constantly told that drinking sodas isn't healthy for me and people ask me to drink juice instead, with the idea that maybe by drinking something natural, I could still get that sugary flavor that I crave, but not drink so much high fructose corn syrup. But I don't like plain juice! That's where the Drink-Mate comes in! Now, with the push of a button, I can have carbonated, fizzy orange juice (no pulp!) if I want to, or carbonated cranberry juice. Carbonated milk? Haven't tried that yet, but seems doable. Carbonated apple juice! Awesome. Here's another thing that the Drink Mate is awesome at doing and will save you money too - everyone knows that two liter (and THREE liter) drinks are WAY less expensive than any other method of buying a soda. But they go flat before most people can finish them, and they take up too much space in the fridge. The Drink Mate can RE-CARBONATE your flat soda. Take one sip of a flat soda, and pour the rest into the Drink Mate bottle and re-carbonate it and you are off to the races! I truly didn't expect it to be as easy as it is to carbonate a beverage, but you just put the bottle on the stand, press the button on top a few times, bleed off the excess pressure and voila, you have a carbonate beverage. ONE THING TO BE CAREFUL OF, I accidentally ordered the package with NO SAMPLE CARBONATION CYLINDERS for Christmas. Fortunately, I'm the kind of person who over thinks everything and I had ordered a pair of refill cylinders so our disaster was averted. But what happened was that I had put the version with the little 3 oz (or whatever) sample cartridge in my cart, then later saw what looked like the same exact thing at a lower price, so I thought, "Hey, that one is cheaper!" I didn't notice that it was cheaper because it didn't have the sample cartridge in the pack. So watch out for that! Anyway, I recommend this to all my friends - it is loads of fun and it is also a great way to get the kids to drink healthy drinks like juice instead of kool-aid type drinks and sodas.

Love it, has made me a seltzer drinker
This thing is dead simple and works great. It requires no power source and has a pretty small footprint. I have never been much of a seltzer drinker, but now I pretty much exclusively drink highly carbonated, unflavored water. Funny thing is, I bought this for my significant other. She is a seltzer addict, and likes this just fine. She enjoys the serious concentration of bubbles you get with this. I did not expect to get in on the action, but here I am. I really have no issues with this, after a year. It makes really fizzy water, and the water stays fizzy for hours in the bottle with the cap closed. It takes seconds to make. Two two-second pushes of the button and you are good. Do yourself a favor, and buy a CO2 tank (like this - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IE1DJ2I) and get it refilled at a place that does home brewing, or a commercial beverage supplier. Look around online and see what's in your area, before buying a tank, of course, but if there is anything around, do it. You will save a lot of money versus doing the exchange on the little cartridge that comes with it. If you decided to go this route, the only other thing you need is an adapter (like this - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CP96GL76) to go between the cartridge and tank. Look for videos on YouTube. It might seem scary, but it's really no big deal, in my experience. The tank has already paid for itself, no question. I fill it for $20. Drinkmate will only let you send back at least two empty cartridges. This comes with one, which would mean you have to buy a second to send back and get a $20 "coupon" to use on buying more cartridges, which start at $60 for two (before "coupon") plus shipping and tax. It's not hard to figure out that buying your own tank is the way to go, if you can swing it. You should probably also buy more beverage bottles, unless you live alone or only one person will use it. Keep in mind they expire, so don't buy them just to buy. The expiration maybe seems dumb, but I do suppose that constant pressurizing takes a toll on the plastic.

A game-changer in the world of sparkling drinks!
I try to avoid drinks with added sweeteners. My go-to substitute was seltzer water with a splash of pure juice, but I didn't like the waste stream from buying it in cans & bottles at retail, the inconvenience of running out at random or the joy of finding someone's flat, barely consumed container sitting forgotten on some lonely bookshelf. The concept of a SodaStream intrigued me, but I was put off by the lock-in to a proprietary, fairly expensive ecosystem. Several years ago I bought a CO2 cylinder as part of a DIY project that didn't quite work. So I gave in to reality & sipped grocery store seltzer water for years. And then I found a hose with a standard cylinder adapter on one end & a SodaStream-compatible connector on the other: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08LP9PL3Q I saw my opportunity & seized it, but after looking at the various SodaStream models, I decided to buy this DrinkMate instead, mainly because it can carbonate a range of liquids, not just water. (The SodaStream circulates liquid through the device; the DrinkMate injects CO2 directly into the liquid.) The DrinkMate has the same connector as the SodaStream, so the adapter hose fits perfectly. I dragged my CO2 cylinder out of the closet under the stairs, bought the DrinkMate & hose (plus a few extra bottles) & have churned out at least two liters of seltzer water a day since then. I love my setup! My CO2 cylinder costs about $30 to fill & is still going strong after three months. I keep two or three bottles of juices in my refrigerator & now enjoy laughably inexpensive, healthy seltzer water whenever I want. Carbonating a bottle of water takes less than a minute. I screw the carbonating cap onto a bottle of cold water, slide the capped bottle into place, press the button on top of the DrinkMate several times until I hear gas get released, remove the bottle, shake it gently for a few seconds to dissolve the CO2 & flip up the little pressure relief cap. Ten seconds later, the water is fizzing its heart out. I like the system so well that I bought a standard DrinkMate canister of CO2 so I can have unlimited fizzy water when I'm away from home. I've already gifted this setup to a family member who is even crazier about sparkling water than I am. This is the way to go, folks.

We use it a lot...hope it lasts.
This is great if you want to carbonate water OR already prepared drinks/juices. I've carbonated iced tea and lemon water and I made my own vodka soda. It's fun, easy to use. and works quickly and well. However, the co2 cartridge keeps unscrewing on its own after a couple uses, and I have to re-tighten it. This is not hard to do, but it is just something I should not have to do. I've decided to use packing tape to tape the cartridge to the body of the unit to keep it from spinning/unscrewing. As you'd probably expect, the unit is made of a light weight, rigid plastic that does not feel very durable. After reading the reviews I bought the extended warranty, so I don't feel so bad about it feeling kind of cheap. So far so good. We've used it for nearly a month...daily or more often. It works..works well with that one annoying issue. Maybe your's won't unscrew itself all the time.

The carbonator that I've always wanted...
First off, I don't think someone should write a review for a product they just received because things can happen and reviews based on early impressions can age very, very poorly. That said, I'm a fan of fizzy water. You see, for years I have owned a SodaStream which I used almost every day. In fact, I use it so often that I claimed it during the divorce and took it with me. But what I've found is that before the DrinkMate, I never knew how good my relationship with fizzy water could be. You see, I never loved the SodaStream but merely tolerated it. It was a marriage of convenience. I put up with its limitations of only being able to carbonate plain water as the presence of anything else (even ice chips or traces of lemon oil) would create a volcanic explosion. Every now and then, I would browse the Internet to look at other carbonators. It's not because I was really unhappy, but rather I just wanted to see what was out there. The DrinkMate came up multiple times and when a friend dropped off a monstrous box of locally grown grapefruit, I decided it was time to test the waters. Unboxing and setup was simple although I do think it's worthwhile for everyone to read the short directions. I loaded up one of my SodaStream CO2 cannisters and proceeded with my first test -- a bottle of fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. Guys, it was delicious. I was so excited that I made another two bottles of it just so I could show my daughters when they get home from school. This thing carbonated that juice with no fuss, no mess, and no drama. The reviews say that this thing can carbonate any drink and I believe it. I have no idea why anyone buys a SodaStream. Mine? I just finished cleaning it a couple hours ago and placed it on the floor next to the cupboard so that it would be ready to donate to the Goodwill. No hard feelings though -- we had some good times together. I've just outgrown you.

Won't make it a year.
This is my second Drinkmate. I bought the first in January 2023 and FELL IN LOVE! It does exactly what it says it does and when it works it's fantastic. Unfortunately, by December the little needle dealie in the upper chamber that connects to the needle in the diffuser will not come out anymore. I followed the instructions on the site to fix it, but it broke the stupid thing instead. Devastated, I ordered another. Mad because at $100 pop, plus gas, plus flavor, it's no longer even CLOSE to cost effective. In fact, if you have to replace the thing every year, it winds up costing 3x as much as generic soda by the 2 liter. I've loved my new one for 13 months. For the last few weeks it's been tougher and tougher to the get the needle in the unit to come out and connect with the diffuser. Last night, I went through all the troubleshooting steps again. Seemed to work okay. Still hard to get it, but it went. This afternoon? We're right back where we started. If the thing is only going to last a year, I'm going to try a different brand. I'm out WAY, WAY too much cash to do this again. NO HELP FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL! DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Remains pressurized, No wasted CO2
I have been an Amazon customer since 2001 and this is only my 4th review. Evert time I use this soda maker I feel the need to share how good it is. I owned a S S brand soda maker, which worked flawlessly for about 15 years. I assume it is still working, unfortunately my Ex got custody of it... Being poorer I opted to replace it with a well prices P brand soda maker, it looked sleek and sexy, and it did put some bubbles into the water, but it wasted a lot of CO2. This Drinkmate is amazing, the soda water is well carbonated and the bottle stays pressurized until you release it, no wasted CO2. Easy on the pocket and helping to save the planet from one time use plastic bottles. Great product.

Repaired loose/stuck top button. Easy fix!
I absolutely love my DrinkMate, but didn’t have anything special to add to reviews until it fell out of the back of my car after 18 months and the button on top became loose, which the mechanism inside stuck down which rendered it inoperable. Without much hope of a replacement after owning it for so long, I attempted to take it apart to see if it was fixable and found it actually quite easy! I’m posting this because I looked for repair or disassembly instructions and found none. Hopefully this helps someone out or makes you feel more confident that you can fix the infamous “loose button” problem if it happens to you. If your button is slack and won’t press down, you can easily open the top and realign the necessary part. In mine, nothing was broken, the hinge was just popped out of place and needed to be reinserted. * There is a phillips screw within the storage area for the CO2 canister which must be removed first. * Then there are 5 clips holding the top of the device down, two on each side and one on the front. These unclipped with some effort using a plastic guitar pick, starting from the back pressing in and separating the seam working around to the sides and front which popped open the clips as you go. Using a plastic piece to open the seam didn’t damage the finish. * Once the top is off, there is a white lever piece which transfers the force from the top button over to the plunger for the CO2 container. Apparently the hinge for this can be dislodged by a mild impact, but it took just seconds to reseat the hinge and then re-attach the top. The whole process took less than 10 minutes and works good as new. I’m tempted to take away a star for the relatively fragile design that allows a 2 foot fall onto a hard surface disable the device, ultimately the fact that I could easily fix it myself with just a screwdriver makes up for that and I’m just glad to have my steady supply of fizzy water other carbonated beverages back!

Très sympa
Je voulais une machine capable de gazéifier n’importe quelle boisson Cette machine fonctionne très bien. Elle fait des petites bulles plus légères que sa concurrente plus agréables en bouche

Insoddisfatto
Gasa l’acqua troppo leggermente.
