Copper Sulfate Small Crystals 10lb Bag

Been using for about 3 months..Seems to be working ..Have had no roots entering my pipes so far this year.

The price is good. The performance is very good. I use for algae control for my pond and root control for my septic lines. It does not hurt my fish( follow directions)Tip: If you have an access to your drain lines(septic), add it there. Otherwise if you add it to your tanks you will need to retreat them with enzymes in 2 weeks. You need good bacteria in your septic system. This product is an algaecide, it works. I recommend it. Oh and from what I can find it is non hazardous and not a chemical.

I have an ongoing problem with roots from two red maples in my front yard-sewer line runs right in between them. Was having to have it snaked almost every three months. I first purchased a 1lb bag copper sulfate from a local hardware store first to see how it would work, and the guy there gave me a great way to use it. Dump about 1lb in an old panty hose leg, then drape it over the edge of your utility tub, tying the open end to something so that it hangs there, just barely touching the bottom of the tub. Every time you run your washing machine, the rinse water will dissolve and pick up some of the crystals. This puts a small amount of the product down your drain every day or so (depending on how frequently you use your washing machine). This nearly daily deposit will leech out through your drain pipe seam or crack where the roots are getting in and eventually kill the roots in a large area around the pipe. I find I have to refill the panty hose about once a month. Since I have been doing this, snaking the drain has reduced from 4 times a year, to never in the last two years. I bought the 10lb bag from Amazon since it was cheaper per lb than what the HW store charges.

Works great in septic systems to kill tree roots without killing the trees. Only affects the roots that are touching the water so it discourages root growth within the tank. Also works great for ponds to help control algae and will not kill the fish!

I found out that the chlorine tablet makers are starting to add copper sulfate to their tablets, but charging a lot more! I bought this and drop a handful in with my chlorine tablets and my water is beautiful!

I’ve now seen others reporting this so I guess “caveat emptor” applies. Great item at any rate glad to have it available.
