Consistent Issues with Roller—Not Suitable for Office Use
This product is very slow and not suitable for office use. We purchased it twice— the first time, we encountered issues with the roller, so we returned it and decided to try the same model again. Unfortunately, we faced the same problem with the second purchase. We're really disappointed with the performance.

Good Technology But Difficult To set Up
Doesn’t work with my MacBook, I can only Wi-Fi Direct. Not recommended if you have MacBook. Edit…. Amazing! I recently bought a used Surface Pro 7, I connected a USB printer cable and it took seconds to recognize this printer!!!! And I was able to print immediately! So it’s safe to say the printer was designed to work with Windows-based computer.

found a lost spring inside the box. printed once and then stopped working. all lights are blinking and burning smell from inside the printer

Fantastic printer if you can get it to connect
I initially gave this one star because the printer would not connect to the network - we spent hours trying without success to connect it - other reviewers have also said that too. In the end, I have an old DLAN and I plugged it into the network that way. It still took a lot of fiddling and the printer won't work with Preview on a Mac so I have to use Adobe for pdfs, but once I got past these issues, the printer is really good - very crisp, fast and the ink bottles (which are cheap) last for ages so way cheaper to run than a laser or conventional cartridge bubble-jet printer.

Ink tank is great
I bought a hp printer before the lock down and I couldn’t get hp304 black ink anywhere, it was out of stock for a few weeks, but my work needs lots of black and white printing, had to get a second printer. And this ET-M1100 is the cheapest when I search for Ecotank printer, it prints faster, the ink tank is super value for money, not like the other types of printers which needs ink replacement every month. Printed about a hundred of pages yesterday after received, couldn’t spot any ink level drop. Compare to the other ink cartridge that can only print 120 pages. If you just need for your home office and printing homework for kids regularly, i.e. don’t need color printing or scan/fax, this one is the best choice. ET-M1100 needs a usb type A to type B line to connect computer and the printer. That’s not included in the package. Make sure you have one if you are buying that model, because the model I got is not WiFi connected. Just an update after 6 months purchase: I nearly finished up with the bottle of ink that was delivered within the printer box. So one bottle of ink could last about 6 months, one bottle is only £11. This is sooooo value for money.

Wi-Fi Direct functionality simply doesn't work on the Epson ET-M1170
Print quality with this ET-M1170 was good but the printer only worked with USB (connected to an iMac). All attempts to use the WiFi Direct functionality proved fruitless, which is a pain as, with three people needing access in the house, it was a non-netotiable. There was an amendment sheet in the box (pretty indecipherable, to be honest) so clearly this printer has some issues...
