My system already had 10Gb ethernet, but I disliked the heat from the translation between SFP+ and RJ46 so I got this so I could just use a DAC cable between my system and the switch. No issues installing, I just had to download the driver from Intel and install it manually, otherwise it worked pretty quickly without issues. Tested getting full 10-gig speeds through iperf3 no problem. 10Gtek seems to be establishing themselves well in the industry. Great cables, wonderful adapters, and now solid NICs to add to the list of items of theirs I've gotten and used. All work solid and as expected.

I'm using this as a direct attached connection between my Linux box and my Ubiquiti core network switch. It's vastly improved the responsiveness of my network filesystem connections on my macs, and I'm quite happy with it. Zero problems connecting it; I'm on the latest AlmaLinux, and all it needed was configuration after boot. Going from a 1gig ethernet to this was like night and day.

These are plug and play for Linux. Worked like a champ.

10GTek is now my go-to brand for high speed networking. I had previously purchased their SAS and Fibre channel cables for other projects and was always satisfied with the quality. I recently upgraded many of my security cameras to 4k, You'd be surprised how quickly several 4k cameras recording 24x7 fill a Terabyte and how slowly that data moves off-system even at 2.5gb Ethernet. In order to reach my retention goals I bought these cards and SFP+ transceivers to build a point-to-point high speed link to dump footage from my NAS to a second system which uses OpenCV to take a frame from the video stream of each camera every hour to create an index so I can quickly narrow down a block of time to retrieve for review should the need arise then off-loads it all to an LTO Tape Library. I Installed these cards in two Ubuntu 25.04 systems and the native drivers immediately recognized them. I established IPs and routing and the speed I could move large blocks of data is incredible. With large file transfers the card gets warm but not incredibly hot which people had indicated should be the case with optical vs copper SFP+ modules. While SAS and Fibre Channel are incredible connectivity options in their own rights there is something satisfying about moving a similar volume of data using normal protocols like tar and rsync. I briefly brought one of these card connected to my NAS up under Windows 11 and although it is completely unnecessary the speed is addicting, now I'm looking for a good inexpensive 10gbe switch so I can put a couple more hosts on my 10gb subnet.

Compatible with minisforum N5 base. Ran iperf3 successfully after making kernel tuning for Linux host and I get 10GB performance with both TCP and UDP flows. Cannot speak of other OS drivers as the main use case will be virtualization and Linux and so far it has been solid with a DAC CABLE

This card does not work with 10GTek SFPs, and I'd imagine it doesn't work with others either. But I'm not going to ruin my other SFPs by putting them in this piece of trash. Do not buy anything from this company. It all fails right around the 30 day mark, their support sucks, and you will have better luck with used dell/hpe NICs on ebay or server surplus companies than you will with this piece of trash.

Good card, works “ok” with Windows 11 but better in other OSes. It keeps me from having to use the awful built-in Marvell NICs on my motherboard that seemed to slowly fail if the PC went to sleep or if they were active too long or got too warm. We live in the future!

I am fairly new to homebrew NAS and networking stuff, I purchased this because of it's ridiculously cheap price. To my surprise, this NIC was instantly found in my TrueNAS server. At first I couldn't get a connection, thinking it was the card but finding it in TrueNAS showing disconnected proved that I just simply hadn't connected my SFP+ cable in all the way A simple pull it out and push it in again and boom! We're off to the races! I only have 1 10gb SFP+ port on my switch while the 8 rj45 ports are 2.5Gbe. I am easily able to get full 2.5Gb saturation writing and reading from the NAS and with 2 systems fully writing to the NAS yielded 5gbps speeds! Great stuff!

In meinen TrueNAS Server eingebaut und sofort hat alles funktioniert. Ursprünglich wurde sie jedoch für meinen Windows 11 PC gekauft, aber dort bekam ich sie nicht zum Laufen. Wurde weder im BIOS noch in Windows erkannt. Nach mehreren verzweifelten Stunden habe ich es aufgegeben und die Karte zurückgeschickt.
