It does everything I want
I purchased a Samsung Galaxy A7 Lite 8.7 inch LTE tablet (Wifi) to replace an ~9 year old Barnes and Noble Nook HD+ which is a 9-inch tablet with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080, and weighs about 515g. Compared to the Nook which I was very pleased with and is still working well, the Samsung is so much faster and easier to hold with one hand.I am using it primarily as a book reader to replace the Nook. In addition, it is used for web browsing for reading news, as well as helping to solve puzzles and crosswords. As a long time Linux user, I have a preference for non-proprietary/open source software, and therefore did not consider any offerings by Apple etc. I have installed Firefox and Chromium, and Aldiko (personal favourite for book reading). I downloaded the apps as APKs as I do not have a Google account and have no wish to have one, and I do not use social media. Alongside these apps, the only other one that I have installed is for my VPN, which I have set up to start automatically and run continuously. For its price and performance, I believe it is very good value and does everything I want. It boots from cold to my home screen with my VPN auto-starting in about 50 seconds. From standby/screen off, it takes about 5 seconds including entering the passcode. Compared to a dedicated book reader, I feel that one of these is so much better value. I can use my preferred book reader app, as well as use it for other purposes. For me, the screen is perfectly good enough, it is clear and easy to read, nothing blurry about it. It is snappy, no pauses or hesitation switching between or while using apps, or any of the problems that some people seem to be reporting. Yes, one can always find a ‘superior’ tablet for just those ‘few extra pounds’, eg An Apple, other Samsungs etc, but where do you stop?. For £119, I believe this is very good value for what is does and I very pleased with it and have no regrets at all.I have measured the screen/tablet dimensions that people may find useful (attached image).

Excellent value for money
As a budget tablet this really punches above its weight, I can't believe it's so much cheaper than an iPad and yet runs the apps I need efficiently. Sure the screens not as high a resolution but it's perfect for my needs and ticks a lot of boxes. Processing power isn't what more expensive tablets provide, but apart from not-quite-seamless refresh rates it hasn't been a problem to date. Video plays back well and there's plenty of memory, particularly when you add a microSD card. All in all, excellent value for money

Reasonable quality for a great price.
Pros: I found this good for surfing the internet, buying on line, reading Kindle books, taking and storing photographs, playing You Tube videos while connected to Bluetooth speaks. Battery like is good. It is a great buy for a 8" tablet and I found few, if any, real alternatives. The iPad mini is four times the price of the A7. I couldn't find a genuine Samsung battery for my old S2 which had consequently developed the cycle of shutting down / restart. So buying the A7 has been a great move. It is impressive for the price.Cons: Thicker and a little slower than my defunct S2 tablet. It can be sluggish to run multiple Apps at the same time. But these are minor downsides for me.

Nice Tablet, Good Battery, Limited Graphics
Replacement tablet for a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. Graphics are limited colourwise and way less pixels than the Tab S2. However, this is minor compared to Samsung's built in redundancy. The operating system stuck at Android 7 meant that many of the basic apps no longer worked. Unless you are overly worried about the graphics the machine is a good replacement and runs comfortably on Android 11 (at the moment). Really good battery life and easy to use user interface (Samsung positive point). Samsung proprietary operating system is a limit and will see the tablet supported for about 3 years. The price point is really good for a tablet of this quality. Apart from the graphics, I can only be positive about this machine, and even the graphics are not that bad!

Great device. Good for mature users, too.
It was bought to replace an iPad that my mother just couldn't get along with. She was coming from an older 2017 'Galaxy Tab A'.I sold it for her and got this 'Galaxy Tab A7 Lite'. It's been a very good replacement for the old 'Tab A', although I don't know what the 'A7' or 'Lite' patter is all about, at all; especially when it has an 8" screen (god, Samsung, could you just simplify your device naming policy, out, please). The cell phone, calling, functionality has been a boon for her, too: less devices to juggle around with and only one operating system for her to learn for phoning, shopping, browsing, email, etc.I'm really amazed at how cheap these things are. Plenty of internal memory, too, so it shouldn't go obsolete all that soon, as apps get bigger and more complex with all the updates, over time (that's what killed the 'Tab A'; it ran out of space).I preferred the older, recent, versions of Android, though. It used to be simpler and more user friendly. We still find it preferable to using iOS, overall, though.
