I have quite a bit of experience with babies, but this will be my first time having one of my own. And my husband has basically zero experience with babies, so we wanted a simple yet informative resource to help us both feel ready to take on having a baby to care for. This book has been great! It’s got lots of helpful info and tips, but it’s presented in a way that doesn’t feel overwhelming.

Haven’t even finished this book yet and already it’s a lifesaver! I am pregnant with my first child and with soooo many opinions and information out there- it’s hard to just get the basic questions answered. This book has all of that and so much more! It is clear and concise without much opinion in it- which I personally feel I need right now. It walks you through everything step by step and makes it very easy to understand the basics of what this new life with a bay will look like. When I’m done I’m going to have my husband read it !

For first time parents this book has it all. It is detailed, has pictures, etc. As all first time parents you are wading into the unknown, this book is so helpful by telling/showing you what to expect and when to expect it. My daughter has worn the pages thin looking up things she needs to know.

Stavo cercando un libro che fornisse informazioni "veloci", tipo infografiche o tabelle che ogni tanto trovo su IG (ad esempio, tabelle orarie per il sonno, poppate, quantità di latte in base ai mesi ecc). Questo libro parzialmente fornisce quello che cercavo, tuttavia l'ho trovato molto incentrato sulla cultura e puericoltura americane. Non mi riferisco al fatto che, come previsto, il libro sia in inglese e con le unità di misura americane, ma piuttosto che molte informazioni che si trovano online o nei libri italiani sono diverse da quelle qui contenute. Ad esempio, si parla di misure per il travaglio che qui in Italia non ci sono, oppure pratiche di svezzamento ormai qui superate. Oppure ancora si consiglia di dare ai neonati dei tablet o i telefoni con programmi per bambini, cosa che da quanto ho capito è altamente sconsigliata qui. Per riassumere, è utile ma non tanto. Continuerò la mia ricerca oppure creerò un raccoglitore stampando le varie tabelle che trovo online.

This book covers a lot of basic information first time parents need to know. The book is not as dense as other similar books in the market. Highly recommended for parents who want high level information to prepare for their newborn’s arrival.
