Perfect entry range device if you just want to try it.
Arrived very quickly. Installed easily with non-destructive means so you can always change your mind without damaging your ride. Does have a limited range so getting the transmitter/receiver positions just right was challenging but not insurmountable. Mounted well - even after I screwed it up (upside down) and had to try several positions to get it in range. Still, it works great, I didn't bother with any fancy calculations for wheel size and when tested on a known distance it was well within any reasonable accuracy need. Easy to read (haven't quite got the backlight going yet but it would just suck battery anyway). The low cost of this unit makes it a perfect choice for anyone that just wants to give it a try in tracking time and distances spent with their bike with the added advantage of not being too worried about it in those sketchy situations you inadvertently find yourself in (cause your a knucklehead anyway). Nice extra flashlight in the same mode - use it and lose it, no big loss - and who doesn't love a few extras? Haven't truly researched it yet but replacing the batteries may be a large percentage of the total cost. Get it and if you love it upgrade to the GPS unit for your $5k Specialized or get a spare one of these for your Huffy.

Cheap price cheap product
as many people stated "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR" the instructions are very confusing , first of all it does not tell you anywhere what the icons on the screen mean. I did the whole install process 3 times and did the metric conversion and it still did not work at all. I know a Lot of electronics are made in countries where the metric system is used, but would it be that hard to put an additional size chart in inches instead of MM . And honestly there are 4-5 actual wheel sizes out there. Would it be that hard to put those values on a separate chart. I Would not recommend this to anyone! PS one way to know if a product is any good is to see how they list the comments.. If they list all the 5 star good reviews first and all the 1 star reviews last then you know they don't want you reading the poor reviews. If you read the reviews for cateye products the reviews are listed just the way they come in.

It was great for a couple months, but the seller came through
UPDATE #2: Well, the battery swap only worked for one ride. I messaged the seller again and was sent a code so I could purchase the speedo unit again for free. I installed all the new components and it's working great. Speedometer is accurate as well as the odometer. Very happy, hope it works long-term this time :) UPDATE: the seller responded and asked me to swap out the battery and reset the unit. I did that and the MPH output is back to normal. I still need to tweek the tire circumference setting to get the distance reading to be more in line with the god phone app. But it was only a couple tenths off rather than 4 or 5 miles off when it was misbehaving. So I’ve changed my rating from 1 to 4 stars. Then it stopped working correctly a couple days ago. The MPH output started flickering random numbers that had no correspondence to how fast I was going. The mileage recorded was also wildly inaccurate as I also have an app on my phone that I use for the total miles and ride time. I just like being able to keep track of how fast I'm going while I'm riding, hence the speedo. The documentation suggested that the sensor might be loose. Nope, both that and the magnet were fine. I took out the battery to reset the unit and put the wheel size back in. Another ride today yielded the same wacky results. I messaged the seller about it since I can't return it to Amazon, but I'm assuming I'm probably SOL. Buyer beware!

So Far, I Love It
I’ve only had it for a day. I’ve ridden about 8 miles with it. I used the tire size chart included with the directions to set the tire circumference, and it has been remarkably accurate, as I’ve compared it to GPS data provided by my phone. The display is legible while riding and provides all the information you might need. I may change my rating if it doesn’t continue to perform, but as it stands I’m delighted. Actually, at this price, even if it only lasts a few months it will have been a good deal. This is my commuter bike, so after a while all the data will be the same… speed, distance, etc. At that point, if it breaks, I might not even feel like replacing it. Bonus thing about the cheap price: if it gets stolen or vandalized, oh well. Not a big deal. Other reviews have mentioned that the head unit rattles. It does rattle… that is probably the motion sensor switch that turns the unit on automatically when you begin riding. You cannot hear any rattling while actually riding. Others have mentioned that the instructions are bad and the unit is hard to install. The instructions aren’t great, but if you understand the concept, installation is super easy. I have included two pictures of how I have mine mounted on my Trek bike in case it helps. It’s not clear from the instructions, but you must mount the fork unit on the side of the fork, not on the inside of the fork (the spokes side of the fork). See picture. Once mounted, it feels very solid. I don’t think it’s going anywhere. The only other installation issue I had was I mounted the head unit bracket on the handlebars upside down (or, I should say, rotated 180 degrees). That makes the computer mount upside down. Fortunately, some extra cable ties were included so I just snipped the cable ties off, rotated the bracket, and zipped it back on. The picture I included shows the correct orientation for that bracket. I would say, at this very low price, you should go for it. There’s not a lot of risk here. And I’m delighted. EDIT: After a few weeks, I got tired of the cheap toyness of this and ended up buying a real bike computer that could track my rides and upload them. No harm, no foul. It was cheap and it gave me the information I wanted. Now it lives in a drawer.

Instructions list wrong input for tire sizes.
This computer was easy to install and get working like others that I have had in the past. Ultimately when you get to the programming is where the problem is. You have to input your tire size and the one listed for my 700X28 tire gives readings that are wildly inaccurate. It keeps giving unreasonable speeds such as 45 mph on flat land. I would love to believe I am that fast, but I know the truth. Will mess around with other inputs to see if I can find the right one, but I would say go with another brand. Also, the tire magnet is not well designed to keep it from rotating, so the computer can stop reading throughout the day. In cycle touring you need accurate distance monitoring to stay on course ( also with cue sheets for local rides).

ACCURATE AND EASY TO USE
This wireless computer was much easier than the hard wired type computers are to install. The video really helped although, it shows the install of the magnet and sensor being installed closer to the axle. My preference has always been “Higher Is Drier” in case you hit wet areas. I installed the magnet about 2” below the top of the rim of the wheel then aligned it with the sensor closer to the top of the fork as you would normally do. Calibrated the computer, set all functions (very easy setup) and took the bike for a spin with my wife on her bike. Cross referenced her computer with this one and both were to close to even mater on distance and speed. Everything works perfectly. Great product at a very good price plus the shipping is fast. Buying another as a backup so I’ll be ready when the time comes for another one.

Cuts out
Wasn’t too hard to set up, but the directions were suppose to be for this model and another one combined so it was slightly confusing. It’s in my outdoor bike, I have inside for winter on a stand so it has to be on my rear tire. But for it to work the screen needs to be close by, so it is on my top frame close to my seat. This makes it hard to read while I’m biking and it seem to cut in and out on the speed. Seen as I am stationary at this time it is hard to judge if it is still keeping track. I will Hopefully be able to test out better in summer.
