Very useful as a revision, extra practise and assessment. Attractive too.

Più difficile del programma svolto a scuola
Non per questo merita meno di 5 stelle perché è veramente ben fatto ed amplia le conoscenze!

Challenging enough for Yr 2
Ordered this whilst in lockdown with schools closed for year 2 pupils. Continues from what my daughter should have been learning this term. She finds it challenging, yet not too tough.

Is the Lack of an Answers Section a Big Concern?
I like the activity themed layout of this practise book. It coaxes our little one into a state of pseudo assurance that she isn't actually studying. Our five year old has used a number of similar practise books by various publishers over the years. The layout is always similar, due to the nature and the age, an answer section isn't really necessary as they're not complex enough to warrant them.I have a good few years of experience with CGP, as a teacher (in a previous life) and as a parent. Our older son has pretty much grown up on them. His books have had answers available from around year 4, but this was some time ago. CGP have helped him immensely over the years to go over topics that stumped him at school or for just a bit of revision. The fact that this one doesn't have an answer section in it, which im sure would still be useful, is a downside, but it shouldnt let it put you off this excellent resource. I say that after having tried a vast range over the years. The material in this Year Two Summer Term book is very good - well laid out with the young in mind, lots of colour cartoons to make the tasks look less mundane, nice large font (unlike the older children books), very visually descriptive for visual learners - even the pound sterling currency are accurate representations of the real coins.• It's broken down as follows:1 task a day in a five day week for twelve weeks in the summer. This is laid out as a bag a day. Each page starts with clear large instructions with an example. Each page ends with a "Today I scored ___ our of ___" for your little one to fill in as a way to self-access and aid them to beat their own best.• What it doesn't have:Answer sections as discussedStickers - NEVER go amiss in the eyes of our little one!A reward chart of certificate at the end of each week to congratulate effort involved.• Would I recommend it?Absolutely. CGP. has for us proved to be an invaluable resource which has seen us through many years of unwavering support. The older year groups do have a supportive answers section which not only give you the answers, but explain exactly how to get to that solution. Without having to purchase a secondary, sometimes even a tertiary, answer book which cuts a deeper hole into the pocket along with a study book, a workbook and the separate answer book that some other publishers choose to have.5 stars

Maths Workbook
I've used CGP books in a number of different ways with various young people through work and have always found them extremely useful, well laid out and gives a boost for students at home from the curriculum they are currently learning. To be honest, I even remember using them myself when I was at school a good few years ago now, they're that well established as a publisher! These workbooks are designed to help catch-up and support learning at home and this one is for KS1 - Year 2 so aimed at 6-7year olds . It is designed to be completed week by week with the activities getting progressively harder as they learn more in school. This is a Math based one and should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. Obviously it will support learning but is not intended to be daunting or overly hard and you will know how well your little one copes with this type of learning, I really like that you can help support school learning at home and feel part of what your child is learning, whist encouraging them from home. They are clear, concise and fun for little ones to complete. As a new parent to a little one, I was intrigued by this range aimed at younger students and excited to see what they have to offer and was happy to find the quality and challenges are the same with these books as I've previously used. I really like this workbook but my copy surprisingly didn't have answers in the back which is unusual for these CGP books and is likely a midpoint. This does make it a bit harder as some parents or care givers like to check answers and help with corrections. I know sometimes supporting young ones at home can be daunting for some but with answers supplied you can help encourage your young one with no stress about what is right or wrong. So far in all the books I've used this is the only one with the issue I've found so am forgiving CGP for this! I find these encourage great conversation, especially when completed supported and I look forward to completing this with my little one when he is ready.
