Unique
This is a very unique guitar, several brands make Thinlines but they tend to have the same wood arrangement as archtops and misc hollowbodies. So what makes ESP's Thinline unique, is the half mahogany build, with maple worked in to add more clarity. Typically maple is the center wood of Thinlines and they get this dull plastic sound as a result, but an all mahogany build wouldn't work either. ESP resolved this dilemma by having a mahogany body, with a half maple top, real ingenuity in my professional opinion. The only fault I find with ESP's Thinline, is that they don't make higher end models. So its a bit of a tease having this very unique instrument without real expenses made in its production. I get the impression that ESP will produce a higher end model if it sells, but who knows? Unintentional feedback is nonexistent in my experience. Its loud enough unplugged to rehearse as so in a quiet environment, but its not an acoustic by any means. If you're looking for a great looking and unique $700 guitar which sounds great, you won't go wrong with this.
