PERFECT. RARE example where a REPLACEMENT product, even an oem replacement item is actually BETTER than the originally-supplied equipment/part! Perfect Fit. With due respect the orig lasted me 10 years+/- on my Ryobi 40001A old-schcool 40v wacker. Wanted post model in case other folks were wondering or if had same model. Juxtaposed against the worn orig, you cna see how this NEW improved version cap has additional webbing casting reinforcements. While my old one never came OFF... the NEW one took more effort squeezing the little tabs with my old nerve damaged fingers, and will surely become and eventual PITA whenit come sspool-change time ... but ten again, afer a few spool change over the next few years I suppsoe the pleastic will eventuyally weaken and get easier? I'm guessin I wasnt not very kind or easy on my weeder spool hitting the ground alot that eventually wore cap out...and only matter time before nay plastic tabs dry out, weaken and eventually crack ? SO i posted pic of that too as I'm sure anyone looking at these is /was in SAME BOAT? Long story short... at least AS FAR AS I SEE IT and FEEL... i made a GOOD CHOICE buying THIS ... and was well-WORTH THE MONEY... even over the SO many other budget choices and multi-packs, complete with multi spools. I wack only around mailbox and few meager tasks at most. SO i dont NEED 6 extra spools; i already have 3 extra orig Ryobi spools and only buy BRAND RYOBI replacement parts, regardless of cost. BUT THATS ME. And I havent been disappointed. Hope this helps someone.

Fits well but pricing high for what it is but the only way to obtain the part.
