Efficient and Attractive
The media could not be loaded. This is a sleek evaporative cooler with new technology. I was pleasantly surprised. It is super easy to work. It has bottles to freeze and add for frigid water. The fan only mode cools moderately on rainy days, but when you add the bottles and fill it with chilled water it is almost too cold. Very refreshing after working out in the hot sun. Saves on using the central air. The pump keeps the cold water flowing, where my last one just ran material through the water area. The water material in this unit has a greater area and flow for cooling. I also really like that I can open it up and clean it. Masterfully designed. I haven't used all the features yet. It is quiet and strong. Easy to switch from fan to cool providing optimal comfort.A note: it comes with a screwdriver to attach the bottom. It adjusts from slotted to philips by pulling the bit out of the handle and turning around. Plus there were extra screws. Bonus

Cools slightly more than regular fan
The media could not be loaded. I bought this fan after the big heat wave in the Pacific Northwest. Unfortunately I didn’t have it for that heat wave but I had it for the next one a month late. The fan does a little better than a regular fan. It probably reduces temperature by about no more than about 5°. I’ve seen other reviews where it makes reference to air conditioner and I’ll stress this is NOT an air conditioner it is an evaporator cooler fan. I wish the description would not say air conditioner because it apparently confuses people as this is not an air conditioner. It will not replace or give you the cooling affect of an air conditioner. Though it does cool the air better than a regular fan if you use the cooling feature with water and/or ice.The fan comes with ice packs, but you could also use ice. I have also found it works slightly better if you use cold water. When I know it’s going to be hot I fill a jug with water and put it in my refrigerator to use.BOTTOM LINE: It is better than a regular fan, but will NOT cool like an air conditioner. If you need it that cool, then buy an air conditioner. However, if you just need to take the edge off hot days, this will do the trick.

Defective
I ordered this unit based on reviews. It worked fine for a month then started making a screeching noise therefore I couldn't use it at night (which is when I needed it the most). I returned it for a replacement and the 2nd unit came in making a very loud noise. The buttons didn't react to my touch. The button showed on but it didn't react. When I tried changing the speeds it didn't react properly. It pushed out air with a loud sound. I'm returning this one for a refund.

Okay but nothing impressive. Overpriced for the 2F degrees it cools my room.
I live in Southern California where summer humidity is generally 15-30% on any given day. Have had this running in my approximately 120 Sq ft office for a few days now. It's rated for 200 Sq ft, but only cools my office from 82 F to 80 F when running all day. No way it would cool a 200 Sq ft room effectively. Probably best for very small bedrooms/offices.It's louder than I expected but still an okay noise level. The air does feel nice, especially if it's blowing right on you. The plastic smell was strong at first but is starting to fade. Water capacity seems reasonable. I fill it in the morning and again in the evening and leave it on 24/7 in cooling mode. I also added some additional ice packs but they don't make a noticeable difference at all.Remote is okay but doesn't light up, so if it's dark you can't see what button you're pushing.I like that it's white and looks decent, unlike some tower fans that are just ugly to look at.Overall, I'll keep it. I wouldn't say it's worth the $206 I paid for it, but it is nicer than just a regular fan. Seems like $100 would be a fair price for this thing. The good news? Customer service is prompt with this company.

Save up your bucks and get a portable AC unit.
I'm glad we have this air cooler, we needed a lower budget solution to hot weather, but this really doesn't get as cool as a regular swamp cooler, and the swing degrees is quite small. For the money, it will cool off a section of a room, but if you can afford it, blow some money on a portable air conditioner.

Ineffective at cooling; pump broke after 2mo; OVERPRICED FAN
2 stars because it does cool the air a little bit if you have it blowing directly on you and ice packs in it. But you will have to change out the ice packs every hour or two.As mentioned, after a couple of months it simply stopped pumping water out of the reservoir and became an overpriced fan. If it had kept working, it would have been 4 stars for doing what it promised even if that wasn't a lot. But, in sum, get an AC unit. If you have to get this... it is better than a fan while it works but you are paying a lot for that.

Good Product and True to Form
We really like our cooler! The fan is strong and it is very quiet. Easy to use. Similar to other reviews, it blows cool air, not cold. It’s better than room temp on this hot summer days but be aware that it’s not a true AC unit.

Aesthetically pleasing & functional
Purchased the fan for my kitchen to keep my 3 cats cool during the hot weather. I have not used the ice pacts yet but plan to do so. The fan is functional, easy to use and doesn’t take up much space. The one drawback is it does not swivel enough (360 degrees) which I find annoying since it doesn’t cool the whole room. That would be the con for me. But I’m keeping the fan.
