great book 💥
Excellent story as always from Stephanie Lauren’s. Loved the characters and the interesting storyline involving the early police force. Will now carry on with this series.

Where the Heart Leads, Stephanie Laurens
Only recently discovered this author. After earlier years being hooked on Georgette Heyer I still love regency adventures and romances. Stephanie Laurens brings them into the 21st century and gives a new meaning to romance and bodice ripping. A really good read, which I can recommend to other readers.

Need I Say More?
This is Stephanie Laurens we're talking about. No need to tell you about the story - it would spoil it. Her style and interpretations of her characters' thoughts and emotions are always the best, ensuring that I read every word, sometimes going back and reading a paragraph for a second time, whereas with other authors, I find myself skipping bits because they are not interesting enough. Always a cracking good plot; I have never disliked any of Ms Laurens' tales. Well worth more than one read!

A look at he East End and its people
A pleasant change from select drawing rooms and Mayfair streets. This time Barnaby Adair and his friend Stokes lead us to the East End, its no nonsense characters and its idiosyncratic mores: "We look after our own"! Even more interesting is that the arch villain turns out to living among the "nobs".Yes there is also a romance, quite steamy in parts, but it is the human qualities of Penelope, Griselda, Barnaby and Stokes which shine through. I particularly liked that there were few reflections onto who was the "leading" dominant partner but rather a study of the developing equal partnership between the couples. I look forward to reading the next instalment in this series where police investigations provide a welcome change to the standard well trodden tropes involving the Ton.

Not one of her best
I am pleased that I read it, but only for the sake of completion. It has lost much of the spark and magic present in the earlier Cynster books. I think that the bones of a good story were there, but it could have done with a good edit as there were some flabby bits that slowed the pace and removed much of the tension/atmosphere. Having said that I am sure I will end up reading the next one!
