An excellent dash cam
Easy to set up and get going. Easy to link to your phone. Works well. Only used for one day so far, but very happy with the 57 Dash Cam. Love the magnetic connection to the small metal plate that is stuck to your screen. Take your time deciding where is the best place to put the camera. You need to buy a memory card as the camera does not come with one. I like the voice control and the extra features of this model, such as the proximity warning.

It simply works
I have has a number of dash cams over the years. These Garmin ones have been the best by far. They are very simple to install and use. The voice activation is welcome and mostly works. Only had to sue these twice in anger so to speak. Once on my daughter’s car where she was rear ended at a junction. Okay the camera faces forward but it clearly showed that she was stationary when the impact came and was instrumental in ensuring a 100% no fault insurance claim as the perpetrator could not claim she had stopped suddenly or that she had reversed into him. The other occasion was as a witness to an incident in front of me. I was able to send the footage to the innocent party’s place of work and, according to the driver, able to safeguard his job there. In summary, great quality and clear footage, easy to install, easy to use.

Great Dashcam, with a few minor drawbacks
I recently purchased the Garmin Dash Cam 57, and overall, I’m reasonably happy with its performance. Here’s my opinion after using it for 2 months.Positives:• Excellent Video Quality: The 1440p HD video resolution is impressive. I’ve been able to capture clear footage both day and night, which gives me peace of mind in case of any incidents.• Wide Field of View: The 140-degree lens covers a great area, ensuring I don’t miss any critical details in front of my vehicle.• Voice Control: This is a feature I didn’t know I needed! It’s very convenient to start or stop recordings, or take snapshots, hands-free while driving.• Compact Design: The dash cam is quite small and doesn’t obstruct the view at all. It fits neatly on my windshield and is barely noticeable.• GPS and Incident Detection: The built-in GPS is a big plus, especially when reviewing footage for precise location details. The incident detection feature works well, automatically saving clips during sudden movements or impacts.Negatives:• Price: Although it’s a high-quality product, I do feel it’s a bit on the expensive side, even with the current discount.• Limited USB ports: The dual USB charger is nice, but having more ports or a faster charger would have been ideal, especially if you need to power multiple devices.• App Connection: The app setup can be a bit tricky at first. It took me a few tries to get it connected smoothly to my phone, but once set up, it worked fine.Overall, I think the Garmin Dash Cam 57 is a solid choice for anyone looking for a reliable, feature-packed dash cam. It offers excellent video quality and a range of useful features, though the price may be a bit steep for some. Definitely worth it for those prioritising safety and reliability on the road.

Great little product.
I have to admit that I didn't do a great deal of research before purchasing this dashcam, but it did appear in a couple of top 10 buys on review sites.I am very impressed with the added features, which I was unaware of, for instance the speed camera warning.I travelled from Warrington to Hull, and back, along a stretch of "smart" motorway, and the warnings it gave were spot on as to where the active cameras were situated.Another useful feature, when sat in unmoving traffic is that it warns you when the traffic begins to move.It paired with my iPhone without a problem.I have also wired it into my fuse-box using the Garmin parking mode cable, and this also works a treat.Lastly, as I did not read the specs first I was pleasantly surprised how small and compact the camera is.I would highly recommend this product.

Very good bit of kit
We are now buying these for each of our vehicles, good bit of kit with lots of alerts, well recommended.

Awful
UPDATEEverytime i try and connect it fails, constantly having to uninstall the app, remove dashcam front and rear. Works then a few weeks later try and connect and it wont. Give up.Support next to useless. AVOID!!!Had this for a month or so. It needed lots of time getting this working correctly.Had issues with saving video after and event not before. Wi-Fi is patchy, took 2 or 3 goes to download a video. It’s slow to download aswell so clips need to be very short which is difficult as the iPhone app editing is poor. Also was out of sync with the rear camera.I also had the first 6 weeks without the ability to watch vault videos. Support from Garmin was woefully poor. They offered the usual turn it off and on again ,etcIt turned out to be an iOS fault and an eventual update fixed the issue.I lost count of the number of hours i was sat in the car trying to get this thing to work.Apart from that the image quality is decent. And I like it’s small size and the ability to use voice commands. Shame about the app and other issues.
