I was torn between this mic and the Shure mvl but this was cheaper at the time and it has been great. I have used it with the DJI wireless mic and it was perfect, as well as direct to camera (via extension cable). Both times it has captured superior audio to the on camera mic and now it is my go to lav mic.

Its an initial item. Not the perfect one, but quite a lot portable and having good quality of sound. Its a good start for like youtube beginners.

Sound quality is good for the price. I like the small factor as this is the main reason I got this. Not very noticeable when attached to the person. Howver I had to buy an TSSR adapter to make it usable for me.

It dose not work as it has to many connections on the jack. Maybe it is for some sort of phone but my pc dose not recognise it

I plugged this microphone directly into my computer. In order to make this work I had to buy an additional TRRS to TRS convertor and mess with the drivers of my computer before I was able to make it work. Even though I preferred the sound of the XSlav to the rode smartlav, the level of noise on the feed of the XSlav was too much for it to be fit for purpose. I therefore had to return the microphone. The level of noise may have been different had I managed to feed it through my focusright interface with 48v phantom power. I did this with a different microphone and this worked Brilliantly. To do this I had to buy a separate VXLR convertor.

Sound quality is a massive step above from phone or video audio, surprised mic doesn’t pick up a lot of background noise even when I turn the gain up high

Great microphone, but are cheaper alternatives at same sound quality.

Mainly got this mic to communicate while on my PC with friends, in meetings, or in games. Also wanted something I could use as a simple lav mic with a camera if needed. Works great and sounds great, doesn't pick up too much background noise. IMPORTANT: Know what port you will be plugging it into to, this is a TRRS connector. -If you're using this on PC, and plugging directly into a Microphone (pink colored) 3.5mm jack, you will need a TRRS to TRS adapter. -If you're using it on a Mac, Smartphone, or laptop with a single 3.5mm it should work just fine without an adapter.
