We needed a meat cleaver and I took to Amazon to find one. I wanted something out of the ordinary. I chose to search for Viking Cleaver. Garbage filled my feed. I had a lot to sort through. Most of what I was seeing did not fit my search request. Until... I came across this! It looked rugged. Nothing ornate. It looked like it belongs on a wall of Medieval Weapons! I ran to the reviews to see if this was too good to be true. After reading many, I realized they were not reviews for this beast. I contemplated my fate, should this arrive and not meet expectations during my need. I gathered my courage as I pressed "buy now." The excitement hit me until the dread rushed in. I HAD TO TELL MY WIFE! I caught her as she came through the door with groceries. She instantly smelled the guilt (or the stress fart). "What now!?" she bellowed. I winced as I held up my phone to show her. I heard the sound of her eye roll before i could even look back at her. The wet sliding of her eyeballs rolling in their sockets. I chittered out a retort. She snarled as she continued on with the groceries. The day it arrived! Anxiety find the air. I met the driver at the door as to not disturb the wife who was working from home. The glory as I pulled it from the packaging! The weight was perfect! The handle kept my knuckles from hitting the table. The wife came out for lunch and I showed her. She held it and was impressed. We both couldn't wait to use it. It was that day that I got to divide up a pork loin to freeze for later use. I glided through the meat like a hot knife through butter. The weight let the head of the blade sink right in. CHOP! My wife took a turn. She fell in love. It became her guilty pleasure to use it! I wish there was "Care For" instructions. We keep it sharp and put a little oil on it after cleaning to keep rust away. Easy to use, best value for the money, very sharp and the perfect size!

Very cool chopper. Blade is SHARP, thick enough to get the job done. I'd not use it on primary beef bones, but is excellent for shopping/dejointing chicken, duck, turkey, and other fowl. Weight is perfect, giving chopping heft without being heavy to use. Easily controllable with sturdy and well formed handle. Washes with soap and water...dry immediately. Do not put in dishwasher!

100% would buy again. I got this for my mom for mother's Day and she LOVES it!! She has trouble with cutting or mincing large pounds of beef, bone, chicken, etc, with a normal kitchen knife. The value for money is actually pretty good. This product specifically is pretty sturdy and the sharpness is better than I ever thought. She looked so surprised and is happy with this thing, lol.

I buy my dog turkey necks to eat as part of his diet. The meat market I buy from has very large necks and each piece is too big for him to eat in one meal. This meat cleaver is big, heavy and a little scary looking and cuts through the bone in one blow. Sometimes it takes two blows because I am a bit nervous about being too aggressive with it. I use it on my least favorite wood cutting board that I don't mind getting a bit cut up, but it usually cuts through the bone and falls just short of hurting the board. It is pretty cool.

I got these for my husband’s birthday. He is pretty picky…but he loves them! Not only are they very nice looking but they will actually cut through any cuts of meat and a few bones as well.
