Is this colored glass? When it is heated does it give off any toxins?

It's just colored glass so I do not believe there are any toxins released.

how much do I need for a 2 foot by 2 foot fire pit? Its a propane fire pit ?

Our fire pit is a round 2x2 foot with a depth of 4" and a 20 lb bag only filled it halfway, not covering the gas pipe.

Is this glass safe to leave out during the winter months?

I bought this glass for my friends gas fire pit,he puts everything in his shed for the winter.I don't know if snow would affect the glass.I don't think leaving it out in the weather is a good idea.

Are all the beads close to 0.5” diameter when laid flat or does the measurement vary?

They are all pretty symmetrical in size. About 5/8" in diameter and about 1/4" in height.
