Quality, durability and longevity make them worth it!
As an owner of the Ruckus Bluetooth Iโm excited for the QOL upgrades this Rumble version offers. Iโve abused the Ruckus to the point that I just recently tore an earbud after 2+ years which is how I stumbled upon these gems - because they have REPLACEABLE EAR BUDS! They are also interchangeable to match the preference/occasion. For me this justifies the higher price point, but wait thereโs more. Hereโs what I love about these: 1. Did I mention replaceable/interchangeable earbuds? 2. The sound quality is noticeably clearer and registers the bass much better which is probably due to having twice as many speakers in nearly the same amount of space (not twice as expensive though which is a definite plus). 3. They hang on the ear so are less likely to catch on things or slide around when youโre working, leaning over and etc. 4. Comes with alternate trimming pieces for customization/personalization. 5. The volume/power button is raised making it easier to power on/off as well as adjust volume and answer calls etc. 6. Durability. Full disclosure Iโve yet to use these anywhere near the same extent as I have my Ruckus but they feel familiar and if anything seem slightly hardier. 7. Noise reduction. I canโt state enough how valuable it is to be able to block out the noise so as not to have to raise the volume of whatever youโre listening too in order to hear it, thus protecting your ears. 8. Versatility. I use these for yard work, exercise, Zoom meetings, sleep (I work nights sometimes so need to sleep during the day and canโt even hear my four kids), shooting, and hands free phone calls. 9. Battery life! 20hrs between charges, are you kidding me? This is incredible. 10. The case is pretty swanky and big enough to easily accommodate. Hereโs my concerns: 1. Price. I think itโs crazy that Iโm spending this much money on earbuds but when you look at the field, thatโs just the world we live in and itโs across the board. So for me it comes down to what do I want for my money? I want quality, durability and longevity - Rumble hits all those marks for me (I mean, replaceable earbuds!) and are a good $20+ less expensive than anything else I would consider. 2. The waterproofing cover for the charging port. Admittedly, I was skeptical about the Ruckus cover too but itโs held up just fine. This one feels slightly less durable though and is crowding the charging port slightly so Iโm concerned it will eventually tear but itโs too soon to know, so Iโm willing to concede Elign knows what theyโre doing and it will hold up. ๐ค Hopefully this is helpful to anyone looking into these and for those of us that already have the Ruckus, this is a no brainer upgrade. Enjoy!

Quality and durability
I own a aerial construction business and we constantly have loud noises around us. I purchase ruckus series for all of my employees because it is a much easier way to communicate hands free. We have tried the radio and ear piece route, but miscommunication was all too prevalent. But to this product, having used the other model I decided I would like to see how this set worked. The sound quality remained, if not improved. The sound dampening kept my ear from ringing at the end of the day and still allowed me to communicate fluidly with my guys. But possibly the most impressive part was while cleaning up at the end of the day, I had my set of rumbles hanging on my neck, and they were pulled off by some mule tape I was tossing in the truck. The headphone flew roughly 10ft away and landed in the street, before I could grab the headset a 1ton drove right over the top. Expecting them to be destroyed, the only issue was the yellow trim piece was cracked off and some minor cosmetic indents on the plastic housing. Everything else worked perfectly.

Great for contractors! Had a couple issues...
There are many reasons I like this product. The battery life is fantastic, they are great at blocking out noise, and the microphone picks up my voice even in loud environments. I use these to listen to audiobooks while I'm sandblasting; which keeps me sane during long days. If a supplier calls, I don't even have to remove my blast helm, I answer the phone, and the supplier can hear me! There are a few issues with the product. My first pair would not charge (even with the supplied cord) and the left earbud would buzz like crazy. I registered the product and Elgin had a new pair delivered to my door in a few days! However, the new pair lasted a month before the left earbud stopped working. I didn't register it so I'll get another pair and hope for the best. Also, it would be nice to have the cord come with the proper "block" considering the price tag. I hope sturdier versions will come out!

***Update*** Perfect for Heavy Equipment Operator.
**Update** I had hoped for a reliable pair of ear buds to wear at work. These work well to isolate the sounds of an excavator that I operate all day. Elgin has replaced (3) sets, for problems all related to the 3 button control. They all lasted less than 1 month before having problems disconnecting, one sided operation, failing to answer/end calls, or charging port issues. All related to the 3 button module. I have worked with Elgin directly, and I will say they have been quick to replace them. I am now using the fourth set (4) as I shop for something else. If Elgin is reading this, work on updating the 3 button control to something more robust and you will have a great product. I however, have spent way too much time dealing with these ear buds. All I wanted was a reliable pair of earbuds to wear at work. I will keep looking. These are the best I have tried. I need to wear Ear protection at work all day long, I work on Heavy Equipment for 12+hrs every day. Silicone tips provide superior noise reduction and comfort for long days on my machine. I had problems with the button module and Elgin replaced without question and very quickly. The only downside is the buttons are small and delicate for ham fisted working men, my fat fingers usually push two or three buttons at the same time. It would be nice to have the controls a bit easier to use, specifically the center on/off/answer button is difficult to find without raising the volume or skipping ahead. Battery lasts longer then a full days use, They stay put, calls are clear and with out complaint from the other person on the line. Three other Operators are now using these and we all agree, these are the standard for what we do. Nice job Elgin.

Unreliable, good when they work.
I received my first set of these December 6 '21. Initial impression was good. I bought these largely due to the advertised long battery life which is the best feature for me. Overall they are pretty comfortable to work or drive in. The noise insulation isn't what I had hoped for, but I believe that has more to do with the shape of my ears so I won't hold that against the design. Over time the ear buds started sliding off of the headset when I take them off, leaving the silicone ear bud stuck in my ear. This is a nuisance, but may not be an issue for everyone. The bluetooth connectivity is solid and has a better range than I expected. Audio quality is decent, they don't compare to high end units that prioritize audio quality but for listening to audiobooks while sitting in an excavator they are pretty good. If you are running chainsaws or leaf blowers you best bet is to wear these under a good ear muff. My big complaint is the durability/reliability of these. As stated I got these in early December '21. On February 6, '22 I submitted a warranty claim after they stopped turning on. March 4 I received shipping confirmation for a replacement set. So, while a little slow product support is good. I am writing this on July 20, '22 now that my replacement headset has begun exhibiting the same problems as the first. They no longer reliably turn on. If they do it is only after they are fully charged. When I try to turn them off, there is an audible glitch that interrupts the soft voice that says "power off." Presently they won't turn on at all. My first set of BT headphones (Jabra Elite, over the neck sport style that cost $75) lasted over 2 years in all sorts of terrible conditions. I am really disappointed that these ones that are marketed toward workers haven't lasted 6 months.

Great for a couple weeks, maybe longer
EDIT: I'm leaving my original review below for reference, but I've upgraded my rating to 3 stars because of Elgin's warranty service (outside of Amazon). I'll upgrade it again later if this third pair holds up better than the last two. In the future, I'll buy Elgin products direct from Elgin. The price is the same, shipping would have been free even if it wasn't a warranty order, and it was just as fast as Amazon Prime would have been, without Amazon's empty promises of fast shipping (seriously, Amazon should offer at least partial rebates for Prime memberships this last year). After I posted the review below, Elgin reached out to me through Amazon and said the second pair was still under warranty. Amazon's automated system was saying they were beyond the return window, so I went to the Elgin website (elginusa dot com), and figured out how to request warranty service. I suspect they're prohibited from linking to their website in the Amazon messaging system, and maybe even from telling me how to go about getting warranty service. It seems like Amazon is an irresistible / unavoidable distribution channel for any manufacturer these days, but the 30-day return window, combined with Amazon's restrictions on seller's messaging to buyers makes it difficult for good companies to stand behind their products without customers jumping through a few extra hoops. ************ Original review: 5 stars for the features. Knocked down to 1 star for durability. I really loved these earbuds for the first week. Then they stopped working in a variety of ways. Just before the end of the 30-day return period I went through Amazon's return process, which was great and only took 2 days from when I dropped them off at UPS to receiving the replacement earbuds. I really loved the replacement earbuds for about a month. Then they also stopped working in a variety of ways, just about when the return window closed. Clever, Elgin. Thanks for $99.95 product with a 3 month life. Wouldn't it be a more honest business model to just sell them on subscription for $33.33 a month? Really, how about a pair just like this but with more durable switches and cables, and I wouldn't care if it wasn't waterproof. Here's everything that went wrong with them: Picture 1 shows the charging port rubber cover, which gets worn and difficult to get open without something sharp and pointy. If the earbuds lasted a month longer this little piece would probably just tear off. Pictures 2-6 show the rubber sheaths that cover the plastic housings at each end of the neck strap. I think the neck strap has the antenna inside it, and these housings probably have the batteries inside them. This rubber sheath could come off the rest of the way and I think it wouldn't matter to me, because the soft rubber ends at the collar around the cord, which is hard rubber and seems unlikely to come loose as easily. I wouldn't worry about it, but it is a sign of shoddy materials selection and manufacturing. Picture 7 shows the volume buttons and the power/play/pause button (the dot in the middle). This housing and its buttons were where the most serious problems seemed to come from. The power/play/pause button gets really difficult to actuate. I suspect the microswitch underneath begins wearing a hole into the underside of the rubber cover so you have to press harder and harder to actuate the switch. I also suspect some wires get broken where the cords enter/exit the ends of this housing. The first pair, in week 2, started frequently turning off or disconnecting Bluetooth by themselves. The replacement pair loses audio in the right ear only whenever I move my head sharply or about every other time I press one of the buttons. The earbuds play the following audio prompts: "Power on," "Connected," "Disconnected," and "Power off". Both pairs started skipping the power on and connected prompts most times I turned them on, making it hard to know when the earbuds were on and connected, especially combined with the power/play/pause switch being so difficult to use. I usually have to try several times before I get them connected and playing. Pressing pause turns them off instead. The first pair, this was happening every time by week 4, but with the replacement pair at week 8 it's maybe 1 in 5 times. +++++++++ Comparison to other earbuds / earplugs I've tried: In my two most common use cases, I'm using power tools, or taking a nap or sleeping. In the following, I'm using the phrase "perceived noise reduction" because I'm comparing audio playing earbuds against simple earplugs in a variety of scenarios, and my perception of noise reduction might be inconsistent with the lab-test ratings these products can claim. Elgin Rumble is the best so far for listening to audio while using power tools. I can use a router, hammer drill, or table saw and still hear the podcast or audiobook I'm listening to with 100% comprehension. An angle grinder is pushing it, but even then, with volume up and the earbuds pushed firmly in, I understand most everything. I like the battery housings, which are heavy enough to keep them in place around my neck whether I have the earbuds both in, one in, or neither. They also work really well for a catnap or brief relaxation with white noise in a house full of noisy kids or under my desk at the office. Anker Soundbuds Curves are not rated for noise reduction, but work all right for very moderate power tool use. I could still hear the audio I was listening to, but to hear it well while driving my old truck on the freeway with the window open, for example, I had to press one side into my ear or wear a stocking cap over them. A random orbit sander or cordless drill is about the limit if wearing a stocking cap over them. They lose the little rubber earmold pieces easily when carried tangled up in a pocket. MPow Flame earbuds (I bought an earlier version no longer listed on Amazon, so I don't know about the V5.0 ones currently available) are not rated for noise reduction. Performance with power tools and pickup truck was similar to the Anker Curve earbuds. I went through 3 replacements of these, but again, they were an earlier version than they're selling now, so maybe quality control has improved. Mack's Pillow Soft silicone putty earplugs provide the most noise reduction I've experienced of any single hearing protection product. They're best for sound sleep, but I wouldn't recommend them for power tool use because they're kind of expensive and are only really good for 3-5 uses. If you need the best hearing protection possible, these would be the most comfortable earplugs to pair with a set of over the ear muffs for shooting or loud power tools. Radians custom molded earplugs are super handy and durable. I carry these in a pocket everywhere I go, and they double as a pretty good eraser for removing pencil marks from the wall when hanging a picture or curtain rods. They're firm enough that sometimes they're not comfortable for sleeping long with one ear against a pillow. They come as two separate lumps of epoxy and hardener, which you mix together until they're all the same color, then press into your ear. I've used them to custom fit new earmolds onto an old pair of wired earbuds, and this has served me well for several years as a backup for these Bluetooth headsets when they quit working. Noise reduction is decent, but not as good as either the Mack's or the Rumble. I miss some audio when using a table saw, and the earplugs alone work well enough for comfort when using any power tools, just not quite as well as the Mack's.

I use them at work and school. All aspects: Quality product.
These low profile earbuds are perfect. They fit your ears without an issue (even has multiple sized buds if you need them). BUT each bud has multiple tiers of plugs on a single bud AND it comes with replacement squishy buds in multiple sizes. It will be comfortable, you have the options. It comes with a power cable that works amazingly. No joke, I have had to use this cable instead of another product's own provided cable to charge that other device. I don't know what it is, but this quality, down to the auxiliary parts. And if you happen to purchase multiple or want a different color, it does come with that option that can be swapped out as well. Now, for the charging. Battery life is crazy for me. I use it at work where I wear a hood that covers my ears. Most other earbuds are annoying and just rub against the hood. These do not stick out too far, low profile...very nice for me. At school, I can block out all the noise from other students while I study. I can focus in and pair it to my laptop so I can listen to music or whatever I'm studying. These do not feel heavy on/inside my ears. They hang over the ear and a light-weight cable goes across the back of my neck/collar to the other. I don't even feel them. I've had these for over a year now and I'm JUST NOW getting to do a review. I can tell you straight...these are worth the purchase 100%. They will last. Easy to use/charge/fit/customize. And they come with a sturdy case. Everything about this is quality.

An Industrial Solution for Noise Protection
Love my Elgin Rumble Headphones. They present an elegant industrial solution to noise protection, with the added benefit of fantastic hi-fi sound. Customer service is great. A little over five months into my first pair, they failed, and with no questions asked customer service sent me a new pair. The new replacement pair has been working flawlessly for the last 6 or seven months or so. Battery capacity is great - if I had one gripe it would be that there is no warning that the battery is half full. It does warn when battery is low. I have taken to charging every other day. Sound is fantastic - only downside being one needs to remove one or both headphones in order to have a conversation with someone. Being already hard of hearing I end up removing both. I have found a small dab of super glue keeps the yellow earbuds from coming off. Careful not to get too much on. Rarely do I recommend a product - but if you work in noisy environments and want comfortable noise protection and tunes then this is your solution.

Work as intended
Works as intended, the machine I work near is 110db at peak, with an average of 95db, these make it bearable, since normal earplugs give me a headache, and my galaxy buds 2 pro are having trouble keeping up with their active noise cancelation, these are the best of both worlds, and have about 3 to 5 days of charge at 8 hours a shift, worth the money.
