I accidentally broke the little plastic tab that protects the 15-pin power connector on one of my SATA III drives. Connector is well made. I used it to clone many drives using Clonezilla without a hiccup.

The male side of the connectors does not have a latch, so the Sata cable easily falls off making them pointless.

Like the descriptions said these cables make an easier connection to SSD devices.
