3M Ultrathon Insect Repellent Lotion, SRL-12, 2-Ounces, 3 Pack

My grandson is extremely allergic to mosquito bites. Bites swell up very large and as a result it is difficult for him to enjoy the outside of my large yard. This product does a great job. It is not smelly and lasts a long time. I have purchased it several times & recommended it to my friends. I keep several tubes on hand for all my grandkids & other visitors. We live in a very moist place & mosquitos are really a problem. This works!

I have tried other products to ward off bug bites and Ultrathon is the best product I have found. It is long lasting and does not stink. There is a mild scent when first applied but it goes away quickly. This is important to me as I am very sensitive to perfumes. But, even above that, it works. Before use my ankles were sore and swollen with bites but after use I have had not a single bug bite. Thank you for a great product!

While camp hosting at a state park on Lake Superior’s Madeline Island (Wisconsin) , I had a chance encounter with a guy from Minnesota who worked at 3M and was instrumental in the development of Ultrathon. Occasionally the biting flies come in to the island as well as the ubiquitous mosquito. I found this product to be the BEST repellent against these nasty pests! I like it in the small tubes for applying this in the desired amounts to the areas that are exposed on my body while camping.

Pros: A little goes a long way. It works much better than any spray I've ever used. You aren't breathing in a bunch of poison or spreading it around you when applying. It comes in a small container that hardly takes up any space and lasts forever. It has never effected my clothing with staining or white spots. It doesn't smell terrible, and the smell goes away quickly.Cons: It's sticky for a while after applying, so sand and dirt stick where you applied it. You have to apply it with your hands. Unless you have access to soap and water, you have to remember while eating or touching your face/eyes. If it came with some sort of applicator (like deodorant maybe), it would be almost perfect.

Best bug protection I have ever bought. It works. The only times I have been bitten in my many hours outside hiking in buggy areas was the time I wore wipes using 30% Deet instead of this, and also once on my stomach where I had not applied this. This product is awesome. It works, and the odor isn't bad either. It stays on well. One very slight drawback is that dirt will cling to my ankles more easily after applying it. But that's something that I'm completely happy to deal with if it keeps me bite-free!

Thier friends who parents used this reported the same results.A friend who used Off got lots of bites.Those who used holistic lavender spray were eaten alive.I insisted on the girls bathing to wash it off every night. It is very potent.I wouldn’t use this every day. But for a week of camping in a woody/grassy/ swampy area - it was well worth the extra protection from bug borne diseases.

I ordered this for the family to use on our last trip to the Dominican Republic. It was at the height of the Zika scare and, needless to say, I didn't want to bring anything back from the DR but photos and memories. We used it regularly and our family of four got exactly zero mosquito bites during our seven day stay. It's not the highest DEET rating on the market but I like it because the smell is barely perceptible. It does last the full 12 hours as advertised. It goes on about like sunscreen. With the tick situation being what it is right now, it seemed like a good thing to have on hand for adventures closer to home.

This product was delivered extremely fast. I received it way before the delivery window time. The packaging was secure and was small enough for the package to fit in the mail box so I did not have to be home waiting for truck delivery. This ultra thon insect repellent was exactly what my doctor recommended. The supplier was the only one who carried this exact product. Other on-line products were similar but not the exact repellent that I needed. I needed the repellent with 12-hour protection. I could not find it in stores In my area. The product was like lotion, non greasy, and easy to apply and absorbed into the skin. It worked as advertised, keeping insects away and lasting 12 hours.
