Put this on a Bearcat 125AT and heard a few CB transmissions from Texas all the way to GA. So i would say it works pretty well... Does not seem like the most well built or durable antenna ever, but for the price it seems adequate.

easy to install

I had gotten it for extra GAIN on CB radio that it will also work on 10 meter Amateur band, just shorten just top section of antenna for better SWR on 10 meter. I also watched on YouTube video; as stock antenna with signal with S-meter reading: S-7, after switched from stock antenna to long telescopic antenna. As tested from same location; From S-7 to boosted to S-9 that is equivalent from 4 watts out-put to 16 watts on same walkie talkie, is still legal because your out-put power is still 4 watts.

This antenna works very well but transmission was not that great. People had a hard time hearing me.

This is a big upgrade over the previous large tactical folding antenna I got. The advantages are: it’s longer which helps improve reception, it’s much smaller when collapsed, it seems less heavy so I’m not as worried about the antenna mount getting damaged if I move the radio with the antenna extended, it’s exposed metal which is better for receive and transmit.The only disadvantage I can see is that you have to collapse it from the bottom pulling the segments down until you get to the top, as opposed to pushing the top directly down. But given how much more compact this is knowing how to correctly collapse it really mitigates that issue.

Good range and not much static

I chose this antenna for scanner use and it was the least expensive choice. When it performed poorly I swept it with a VNA. Turns out it was resonant around 27 MHz. To be fair, it is labeled "27 MHz" but I dont recall that information being in the listing...The base easily unthreads and exposes the loading coil, which I jumpered with a piece of wire.Now, the antenna performs well across the VHF band. A very simple mod.Otherwise built as well as you could expect a $14 antenna to be! No complaints.
