Great lights, easy to set up, and reliable!
I've tried a bunch of different smart bulb options, including the "big name" in these bulbs that can cost more than $20 per bulb when purchased in large sets. I haven't found any drawbacks to these Govee bulbs! The only slight inconvenience is that like most smart bulbs, when the power is disconnected and reconnected (flipping the switch instead of using the app) it can take about half of a second for the lights to turn back on. This is pretty standard across ALL of the smart bulbs I've tried, it's just something that I notice on occasion. These bulbs have really stunning colors too! They have a real true red, moreso than most of the smart bulbs I've tried. The vibrant colors will keep me coming back to these Govee lights! I specifically got these to play with setting up automated scenarios for my husbands D&D games. So we've used other applications (IFTTT) to utilize these lights and several other devices to really set the mood quickly when he's playing! It really takes things to a new level for them! We've also purchased these lights to put in lamps around our house so that we can simply tell our Amazon Alexa to "Turn off the bedroom lights" or "Turn on the hallway light". It was super easy to set up with our Alexa devices and with the Apple Home app. It's been great to have these around our house! I also really like Govee in general because they provide affordable options for smart devices. I've had really positive experiences with their Dual Smart Plug, Single Smart Plug, LED light strips, and Flow Plus LED Light Bars. Because of this I'm also considering replacing my current humidifiers and thermometer/hygrometers with the Govee options! The Govee app in general has been incredibly reliable and easy to navigate. It's super simple to connect to other apps and I'm generally a huge fan.

Great Lights for The Price Point
These lights are great! Super easy to install and for the price I was blown away by how well they work. I installed three lights on a light switch and one in a lamp. Things I Like - Easy to install and setup - The Price is crazy cheap compared to other lights like this. - Works great with Alexa. I can turn them off/on with just my voice. - You can set them to an almost overwhelming amount of colors. - I love how you can have them be warm white or bright white. I prefer the bright white and not the yellow warm light but I love how I can have them blue/purple or whatever color and then when I need to see I can turn them on white bright. - You can have them change automatically to several different colors. So many different options (Gradient, Breathe, Romantic, Candlelight, Heartbeat, Energetic, Blink) You can also custom change them. I really don't dislike anything about these lights and can live with what they don't have. - They don't flick to music - I would recommend keeping the light switch on and the lamp always on because if you cut the power to them they tend to lose Wi-Fi signal and then you have to re-setup them again. Which can suck because I can't use my light switch anymore but since I can use my voice who cares.

I love Govee
I prefer Govee over Phillips Hue because it’s cheaper and the quality is just as good. I have Govee lights in all four bedrooms and the dining room and will eventually get the can lights for my kitchen as well. They pair very easily with Alexa and you can set them up in a group so Alexa will turn on and off all the lights at once instead of having to individually do each one. In the morning I set the brightness to 25% and in the evening 100% in my bedroom so I can see without hurting my eyes. You can change the colors or make them warm white or cool white (my daughter keeps hers pink and my son likes his blue). I honestly can’t remember the last time I had to flip a light switch lol! I have the Govee mini aura lamp and the Govee outside string lights and several smart bulbs. Definitely worth it and a much more cost effective option over Phillips Hue! During Halloween I make the dining room lights purple to help add to the spooky ambience and red and blue when we have our big Fourth of July party!

No remote, and an unstable connection to the app
EDIT: Govee has long since fixed their app. I no longer use Alexa but rather Google Home and I have no issues anymore. The product is great for the most part. Certain colors could be brighter and the software could help you configure themes or routines better but for what it is, it's good. I can safely recommend these as an excellent option for static or basic pattern mood lighting. The Cool white and warm white are also pretty good and fairly bright. I will be leaving my previous review below because it was true when I wrote it. --------- I ordered 2 of these WiFi addressable RGB strips and a 2 pack of the Govee WiFi RGBWW bulbs. All 4 products are incapable of connecting to the Govee Home app for more than a few seconds. The WiFi strips are advertised to work with 2.4Ghz WiFi but require you to use bluetooth to operate it. The products, when working, seem to require the Govee Home app to be open and connected to your devices in order for alexa to recognize them as turned on. The products look great. That's undeniable. And quite frankly I would have given it 4 stars even if the alexa functionality was garbage. Had it come with a remote that is. But given the fact that the RGB strips AND the RGBWW bulbs did not include a remote. I have to give it 1 star. It's an unusable product. I work with smart products and install residential/commercial networks professionally. I have up to date equipment. Nothing stays on a stable connection. It's unusable in its current state because it simply will not connect to the Govee home for more than a few seconds. If you're willing to take the risk of them not working for you, buy them. Because they look great. But not being able to use them as intended is absolutely a deal breaker for me. Govee, fix your software. And remove the "WiFi" advertisement off your products that must be operated with bluetooth.

Works great. Not so easy to set up
People mentioned wifi connection so I might as well put in my opinion. About setting up, these definitely arent so easy (compared to Feit which I bought at Costco) but it seems go work fine the first time I tried connecting it. Just that after that, i kept getting wifi connection failure and would have to turn the wifi On/Off constantly everytime I tried to control them from the App. I was about to call it quit and return them back, printed out label and everything but was lazy to drop them off. So a few days later, something happened to my wifi and I had to reset the modem. It works like magic after since, no more connection failure. Im still not sure why but if the same thing happens to you, maybe reset your modem?

Excellent, just can’t use the wake up timer
If these worked as advertised, they would be great, but they just don't - I have them set to a certain color at a certain brightness, and I have it where they wake up at a given time and they are supposed to turn off at a given time. They wake up every day, that part works. But they don't wake up to the set brightness or color 99% of the time (they just go to white light at 100%), and they almost never turn off when they are supposed to, I have to turn them off manually almost every single night. I've redone the wifi hookups multiple times and worked through the troubleshooting instructions, and they still do that. I'm using them with the app thru my iPhone and am disappointed. Update 6/25/21 - so I figured out that if you disable the wake up feature, they work perfectly!! Now they turn on and off every day without issue and they go to the setting I picked - correct color and brightness. So no more issues, very happy with them!! Especially because power outages / blips don’t affect functionality. Love them!

For the money these are great
Im a college student and typically do my homework at night. This typically results in me getting substantial eye strain looking at bright monitors so these became my solution. They provide nice ambient lightning that isn't distracting and alleviates the harshness of screens. Colors are good and bright for night but don't expect the RGB colors to illuminate a living room, they're are mood lighting to me. The normal temperature controlled white is great, this will certainly replace typical run of the mill bulbs. I believe they list these bulbs at 800 lumens and that seems to be the case as they do outshine the 650 lumen bulbs I used to use. So it seems that you are getting what you paid for as far as whites in brightness, but you will not get the same for colors, not that you should expect 800 lumen 255 red, the bulbs would he twice as expensive. I'd say that they are just as capable as a Philips substitute, but I have no idea I don't own any hue products. Your mileage may vary, light colored walls will bounce light far more effectively then a dark wall. Also, you use your phone to control these. Lot of comments and reviews stating that they didn't get a remote... Actually had a good laugh with that. The app is good not great. Couldn't figure out how to group the lights together, either I'm blind or it's not there but not a huge deal to me. Many other RGBW bulbs and smart home products do this sketchy thing where the apps requires a whole bunch of permissions to run such as camera, photos, microphone, contacts so on and so forth. Welp for those concerned the Govee app doesn't ask for any of that so no worries about China spying on you :)

Overheating!?
After being on for more than two hours the light seems to start getting brighter and darker by themselves. After bit of research I was informed it could be from overheating or loss of connection but it seems to happen a lot.
