Perfect for my 7 year old granddaughter , it’s an actual life vest not so much for pool usage but she likes that she can put it on and take off by herself . Quality construction from good materials .

My 7 year old great-nephew wore it for 7 hours straight, no complaints and no attempts to take it off. From all appearances he all but forgot he had it on. Thankfully we didn’t get the opportunity to test its flotation, but I put my faith in the fact that it’s USCG approved. It’s easy to fasten, straps appear adequate to support him… it’s nice when compliance is so easy.

Finally, a life vest that fits! I ordered this for my size 10-12 boy, who is a little bit wide through the chest a middle. Although he weighs within the range of the normal youth vests (80 pounds), they don't fit him at all--much too short and too tight to close properly. This vest fits perfectly. It's not too long, which allows him to sit and not have it ride up around his chin. The wide arm holes allow for movement, but the vest offers plenty of coverage to make it useful in the event that it is needed. With a weight limit to 125 pounds, he should be able to wear this until the teen years.

The item arrived just tossed in a box bare... with no bag, wrapper, or tags. And it had a strong smell of scented sunscreen... as if someone had worn it, essentially 'rented' it for free from Amazon! (It also seemed to have a small grease stain... perhaps from sunscreen, as well.) My problem is that I need a PDF for kayaking tomorrow morning!! What a drag. That said, the price was reasonable, and this size is good for small, slim adults—a better fit that the larger, one-size-fits-all/ universal adult size. The open sides are well suited to paddling, providing for freedom of motion. And it's cute looking, nice colors and graphics.. Postscript: Here's the downside: It has served be fine for a year or so (even though I can still detect the sunscreen scent that came on it), but... it's not ideal for a high-back kayak seat. So, I am graduating up to a somewhat more sophisticated PFD with a mesh lower back and high flotation section in the upper back... to fit the seat more comfortably.

Bought these for a vacation where we rented a boat. The kids loved them and chose to wear them even in the pool. They fit great and worked perfectly even for snorkeling. Perfect buy for our family!

Fits my almost 9 year old that's built like a 12 year. Still had to buy and attach crotch strap to keep from riding up in water. But still the best one he have found that fits him

This product traps water inside the lining material. So when my child swims in the water for a little while, it becomes to a point where he is carrying 2 bags of water around. This makes the lifevest much heavier than it should be. Other brands' lining cloth/material is tight against the foam, not allowing so much water to go in between the foam and the lining. Plus, it releases that water when in use. This lifevest does not do that, so when you come out of the water, there's 2 giant bags of water that takes a while to release. pretty annoying to be honest.
