I recently cleared out decades of PC equipment. I needed something to access numerous 2.5" and 3.5" IDE and SATA drives so I could check and 'erase' them before disposal. This adapter handled them all without problem. The adapter, USB3 cable and UK 3-pin power supply fit neatly into a small branded cardboard box. The instructions are simply but clear and informative. Someone mentioned in a previous review that the 4-pin MOLEX power cable couldn't reach the socket on their 3.5" IDE drive. I can only assume that their drive(s) had the socket in a non-standard location, as the MOLEX plug worked flawlessly with my 3.5" IDE drives. Anyway, you could always purchase a MOLEX extender cable on Amazon if required, they are not expensive.For my money this is a 5-star product. Well worth the price paid. It's a 10 out of 10 from me :-)

This is an excellent little product. It will interface your PC to different types of HD drives and allow you to work on them. I bought it mainly to check my discarded drives for content before I disposed of them and it worked with IDA and SATA drives seamlessly. Someone below noted the power connector was not long enough for their drive: SATA drives do not need the power connector, it is delivered through the interface. All round, nicely made, USB 3.0 cable and separate power adapter included, worth every penny and worthwhile having around for occasional use in the future.

Works to connect sata drives, although it had some problems with my original xbox hard drive i bought it for since its a locked drive. It wasnt as fast as some other sata adapters, but its made decently and is quite cheap.

Works well I found, it's very simple to use and had no issues connectivity. I was able to access several redundant hard drives to retrieve data and back up onto a spare drive, it gives piece of mind being able to quickly check old hard drives from faulty PC's before deposing of them. It was also useful to connect to a CD drive to transfer items.

Excellent item no need for a boxed docking device this is probably better as the connections are all open and so easier to use. Some of those that are fixed inside boxed housing appear to be vulnerable to break due to the awkwardness of their designs. This is all that is needed. Works great on an old 3.5 ide drive thanks

Ordered this adapter to recover date from 5 older 3.5" drives. 4 of them IDE and 1 SATA 150 drive. Had no issues with the IDE drives (just make sure the master/slave jumpers on the drive are properly configured). But couldn't get the adapter to to work with the SATA drive (the drive starts rotating, but it is not recognised by the PC). I eventually managed to access that drive with another USB to SATA cable, borrowing the power supply of this adapter, so at least I know the drive is OK. As a conclusion, had mixed results with this adapter but managed to get done what I intended to, albeit with the help of an extra cable.

Fantastic bit of kit, easy to use with no problems at all. Recovery of all my old files, well worth the money.
