Q: Is there a trick to getting it to charge? I’ve plugged it in with the phone and independently and can still only get 1 blue light.

Not that I know of. I dropped mine after about 3 months & it stopped charging so I had to buy a new one. Sure is nice to have the battery backup thou with my long days on the job site & usually not able to plug the phone in anywhere.
