Phenomenal Grips
I installed these grips on my 2012 Ninja 650 and couldn't be happier. The red accents look fantastic and the grips as super comfortable and grippy at the same time. These grips are not too thin like some other aftermarket grips and the have good cushion while still feeling direct. Highly recommended.

Similar to the ones Stoner used on his Desmosedici GP9-GP10
ProGrip 717, Red/BlackI purchased these because they resembled the grips that Casey Stoner used on his Ducati Desmosedici GP9-GP10 in MotoGP, except those have the "X" pattern underneath as well. Well, it turns out the ProGrip 717 is a CLOSE ended grip! My Ducati 696 uses open ended grips, so I had to figure out what to do with the 717s. Some suggested getting the Motion Pro grip cutting tool, but I chose to go with an Exacto knife modification. I carefully sliced open the ends. The 717s are a dual-compound, and the outer compound is VERY soft with a grippy texture. It is like gripping a marshmallow that sticks to your hand! Unfortunately, it also made it hard to install even using extra hold hair spray. It tended to squirm in my hands as I tried to twist it into place. Luckily once it sets, it is good to go. These even have grooves on the ends for safety wire.I did some research and ordered the Pro Grip 780's as backups in case I couldn't use the 717s. The 780s have the same texture and compound as the 717s except it doesn't have a hard inner core. You see, the colored part of the 717 is the harder internal core compound while the black is the soft squirmy material. The 780 does not have that inner core or the safety wire grooves, but is slightly longer for that perfect OEM size. The Ducati grips were ultra hard and slippery, but slightly longer than the Pro Grip 717 and 719.The 717s look very sharp when installed, and I highly recommend you try hair spray since it seems to hold on very tightly. I didn't believe people at first until I tried it on my Glock's Hogue grip and the 719s - they just stuck on tight and didn't rotate even during heavy use.If you choose to buy 717s, make sure that you can use close ended grips or be prepared to cut open the ends. These are very soft, and they don't like being cut. However, they are inexpensive enough to swap periodically in case they wear out. They remain very soft even in cold weather (below 20F).Overall: 4/5 stars, had to cut open the ends, ProGrip ought to make an open ended 717 with the "X" pattern underneath as well to replicate the MotoGP grips, very squirmy during installation, and you may want to check out the 780 if you like the texture and outer compound as it is an exact match but slightly longer.

WAY better than stock, but a bit buzzy
My hands used to get fatigued on the 45-minute ride to/from work downtown, particularly my right, because I was constantly having to grip the throttle tightly to keep it from slipping and rotating back. Made it hard to maintain speed. Now, I can just lay my hands on both grips and they just STAY, and I can hold the throttle where I want with almost zero effort. They went on pretty easy. Just poured a lil' bit of rubbing alcohol down them before slipping them on, getting them lined up where I wanted, and VOILA! Done. (Of course, taking off the bar ends first was a thing of its own, as was removing the adhesive from the previous grips.)Only downside to these is that they do seem to transmit a bit more vibration than the previous grips somehow. Might be because the previous grips were so slippery that it allowed the grip to slide ever so slightly within my grasp and not transfer that vibration motion into my hands; these are so grippy, there is ZERO give, so whatever you feel in the bars you'll feel in your hands, too (for better or worse).
