added magnets, covered 2nd cutter, may change tape color
Who doesn't love labeling things with painter's tape? This is a compact and nifty dispenser to make this faster and easier, with nicer looking tape bits adorning your stuff. The kit comes with the dispenser, a nice permanent marker, a generic roll of blue painter's tape, and 3M adhesive velcro strips. For my application I have a magnetic surface to mount the dispenser, so instead of using the included adhesive velcro, I glued four 3/4" diameter, 1/8" thickness neodymium magnets in the channels on the back (see photo). This holds the dispenser extremely solidly, and it's still easy to dismount and move around if needed. I'm sure the velcro works fine, as other reviews have indicated, and consistent with my experience using these strips in other applications. One other minor modification I made was to cover the un-used side cutter with the most convenient material available: (you guessed it) a bit of painters tape folded over (see photo). This reduces the likelihood of poking or scratching myself when I mount and dismount the dispenser or carry it around. It's pretty easy to pull the tape to get it started, although this takes more dexterity when the tape roll is new, as there is only a small (~3/8") gap between the roll and the dispenser to grab the tape. Cutting the tape is also easy, just like most tape dispensers. At first I was put off slightly by the asymmetrical edge created by the cutter due to one serration being longer and broader than the other ~11 serrations. After a few dozen uses, however, this pattern has grown on me, perhaps just because it is distinctive.Although this has nothing to do with the dispenser, it can be difficult to see black marker on dark blue tape in low light, as other reviews have mentioned. I tried a silver metallic sharpie as one reviewer suggested, but this didn't improve as much as I had hoped. I think the real solution is to switch to a lighter color tape for which there are plenty of options online, including the famous green brand (I just ordered some generic yellow painter's tape to try).As far as the value for the price, I think it's actually pretty good. I can't imagine it breaking or wearing out, and I can't imagine a time in my life when I won't want to use it, so it has a "buy it for life" quality, which isn't that easy to come by for just twenty bucks.

Keeps my Kitchen Organized! No more Mystery Foods!
The Kitchen Stickin' Tape Dispenser is a handy gadget that mounts to your wall or fridge. It holds both tape and marker. This means you can always find the tape and pen you need to label food containers, storage bags, or anything else in your kitchen. The dispenser is easy to use with one hand, and the labels are easy to write on. I found it to be a great way to stay organized and keep my kitchen from looking cluttered. Here are some of the pros and cons of the Kitchen Stickin' Tape Dispenser:Pros:- Easy to use with one hand- Keeps tape and pen organized- Tape is easy to write on- Helps to keep your kitchen organizedCons:- Can be a bit bulky- Not magnetic. It only came with 3M stickies- Black marker on blue tape is hard to read. I switched to a silver pen.Overall, I would recommend the Kitchen Stickin' Tape Dispenser to anyone who wants to keep their kitchen organized and efficient. It is a great little gadget that makes labeling food and other items a breeze.

Unassuming, but transformational
We first saw one of these in a friend's kitchen, and were so intrigued that I purchased one myself the day we got home. Over the past several months this unassuming little product has been truly transformational in our kitchen. We've previously had Sharpies tucked in with the spices, sure, but I am no longer having to scrub sharpie off of bare plastic and glass because the tape is available. I've also had tape shoved into a side drawer, but it's always buried and difficult to rip when my hands are wet or dirty. I can pull this off one handed, pop off the cap, and get things labeled.Because it is so easy to label things, I find myself labeling more often. For example, I find myself labeling every mug with people's names before I send them out for my kids and their friends on a cold winter's day. Or writing things like, "2 lbs ground turkey, browned. For tacos." Or "For snacking" on a container of cut broccoli or fresh berries. Or a partially assembled recipe, where I'll label it "Dry ingredients, cupcake batter x2. Missing baking soda." Several times I have partially prepped a meal, popped it in the fridge with a masking tape label to remind myself where I am/what ingredients are left, and then come home to find my husband has figured out where I was and finished the meal before my return. Because it was just that easy. One minor issue with the device is that sometimes if my cabinet gets too full it can push onto the tape and then the cabinet door doesn't close well. It's only happened a couple of times, and I took a moment to clean out unnecessary kitchen items. But this has a thin enough profile that that doesn't happen often. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I've had no problem getting replacement tape or markers for this: any 1" masking tape will do. We have never had the command strips fall off, and will purchase new command strips to go with this someday if we ever have to move.In all, it's been exceptionally functional and easy to use. While I don't exactly need another for my kitchen, I did give one away recently as a (nice) white elephant gift, and plan to purchase more as future housewarming gifts. I'm also considering purchasing another for myself one to go upstairs where we do crafts and label clothing boxes. It's just a great unassuming little gadget, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Convenient but pricey
Handy to have tape, cutter & marking pen all in one location but took off a star since it could have been more reasonably priced.

Good idea
I love the convenience of this label maker! It keeps my pen and label roll in one place, making it so much easier to date food containers and label breastmilk bottles quickly. No more rummaging through drawers! The built-in blade is sharp and makes clean cuts. Unfortunately, the small marker holder broke a bit, but I was able to rig it back on. Despite that minor issue, I'd still recommend it for its practicality. Price could be cheaper.
