Best book so far to understand the behind the scenes of AR device
This books explains in detail various components of building an AR system. From Computer vision to Sensor fusion, it details a lot of useful information on how to build an AR device. Very useful if you want to get an understanding on a Systems level of how a device is stitched together.

Excellent Reference
As a graduate student focusing on AR visualizations for thesis work, I needed an all encompassing reference to provide me with a foundation in AR and point me in the right direction to start development (quickly). Thus far this reference is providing all of the above. Strongly recommended for those just beginning in AR.

The Big AR Overview
In the preface, the authors point out that it can be used as an academic textbook by teachers and it does seem to be as though they were trying to write the authoritative reference on AR. In large part, I believe they've succeeded in their aim and it's a very good overview of the "state of art" as far as I can tell. It covers many aspects of AR in exhaustive detail with a plethora of external references to follow up on if that's your inclination. In many cases, exhaustive is the operative word, which can make it a bit of a tough slog in terms of reading and comprehension which is why I didn't give it 4 stars instead of 5. I was initially torn between this book and the other book by the same publisher, Practical Augmented Reality. I wound up buying both. Frankly, I enjoyed that one a bit better and switched to reading it first. However, I did return to this book to see if they covered things in more detail, which in some cases they did.

Very good contents. Bad pages in printed version.
Very good contents, it's a good option to learn the concepts and primary topics about AR. I use it as study book and it's very understandable.Bad think is that in the printed version, some pages have a wide and dark line in the middle from top to bottom. Quality control should be deeper for this kind of resources.
