Light duty matrix
Read the reviews, and I felt like my job was small enough to stick with this unit rather than a dedicated router. I did wonder halfway through whether I needed something nicer, but everything worked out beautifully. With some hook-ups on materials, I did a $3k job for $500 total. It turned out as nice as I could have imagined. This will be my least used matrix piece out of drill/driver, impact driver, Sawzall, inflator.

Worked great for my needs!
I recently used this to dig out a little area in my nightstand to install a qi charger and this fit the bill perfectly and had no issues. If I could gripe about one thing, it would probably be that the little opening on the sides suck to loosen and tighten the blades. I found myself reaching in with a needle nose half the time.I don't really have a workshop, since I live in an apartment. So I didn't clamp anything down, just threw on some safety googles and held that sucker down with my knee and went to town on it with this router and it did great! If you do plan on cutting out a large hole, like larger than the diameter of the base of the router, be very careful and put more weight on the edges that actually have support. I almost made the mistake of not doing that and almost ruined my project with a hole right through the board.Cleanup was pretty easy also, kept the dust pretty minimal for the amount of cutting shown in the pictures. Getting dust out of the equipment was rather easy too, obviously it's going to get into some areas that's a little trickier to get into.I know "experts" and "professionals" all hate on the black and decker brand, but I've had no issues for using it over 3-4 years so far. Except with their sander attachment, that thing was not built well at all.

Small projects only
Used a few times hard to set up the bits tightly and has to be thin project material and practice

Happy not to need a BIGGER machine She handles it well
At first I was very skeptical about using this tool. It was so small, but I bought the router bits and this was my first go with them. It was clean and efficient. Gave my work a little more polish. Thank you I will be trying more bits later.

Works great, better than buying a whole new tool!
My husband has been wanting one of these for awhile now and the price couldn't be beat. Now, this attachment is kind of a necessary for any guy who does home repairs or even like to do projects around the home.We purchased this in order to finish of a tile job in our kitchen and since then, we have also ended up using this on a chair, our bathroom and his workshop setup. The uses are kind of limitless and it gets rid of the need for multiple tools by having this attachment. It actually took quite a long time for it to arrive, so I would say to order well ahead of time so your not waiting. It's been a good quality piece for us and hasn't given us any problems. It gets the job done, and does it quickly.

Good for occasional users with small routing needs.
I like the Matrix system including the basic set with a drill/screwdriver. It is such a convenient way to enjoy various tools in a small compact package. I used this router to do a small job and came to conclude that it is quite good for very occasional users (like myself) but for any one else it might be better to get a larger full-sized router. I like the fact that this is cordless. It allows for more freedom of movement. However, I find it is also slightly difficult to keep it perpendicular to wood plank as the cup is small. But overall, I am quite satisfied and would recommend to home users with occasional routing needs. Uses 1/4 inch bits as pictured. Designed in USA, made in China.

Falty on try
The media could not be loaded. A big dispotment as the router bit keeps falling off, making it impossible to use.The small wrench couldn't give a good tight tug, because of router protection.

Buy it today if you are familiar with routers, or willing to learn
I had low expectations for this. I was wrong. Used it with 1/4" round over bit for a small job - was very quick to set up and great control with the drill handle. I was routing Oak which is a hard wood and will tend to tear out end grain but I had no issues. Not a high volume tool but it gave me great results with a quick setup time. I have three "real" routers, this got the job done well with less hassle. Might be a little intimidating for those who are new to routers - practice makes perfect. I have all the matrix attachments, and I think this and the trim saw are tied for the best for me.TIP: once you have it running you can let go of the button on the router attachment. Depth of cut adjustment is really good as well.

Customer Service?
I have had on now 4 occasions, items purchased and within 7 calendar days, the item drops significantly in price. When I contacted Customer Service, I asked them to do the most logical thing, provide me a refund of the difference, with taxes. Seemed logical. Not so.The policy, at least within Canada is to offer a maximum compensation of $30 per call. Since the originating call was above that amount, no compensation was offered. The ONLY solution was to return the items in question and re-order them at the discounted price. A ludicrous solution and not cost effective nor logistically easier to do.I received nothing but quotes on pricing policy when I complained about the process. I have decided to put this story in the user comments from now on. Sorry to those who may be offended, but really, it is a warning to you.
