This is a pair of very tiny penlights. Just large enough for a single AAA battery. Although they warn you that this might not seem very bright, it seems bright enough to me. I am using this for UV leak detection and the dyed UV detector oil lights up very brightly under this beam. It is constructed of a very heavy and solid material with a good finish and a matte black textured surface. It feels very heavy in the hand for its small size. There are no moving parts except for the button on the end. The light switches on and off without any flickering or flakiness that you might typically see in cheap LED flashlights. Since it's 365nm UV light, it should also work better for pet urine stains than the 385nm lights sold for this purpose. Even though this is a small penlight with a tight beam, it will light up UV leak detector dye without a problem and you'll be able to easily see pet stains in a darkened room.

I bought 5/2 packs for my front door bouncer crew for checking IDs. After rigorous testing my conclusion is that these UV are well worth the money and repurchase. The light is very good and efficiently bright. It will do the job if it survives. Out of the 10 I bought 2 did not survive. One was dropped and never turned on again. The second one has this thing where as you pressed the button it would gradually sink into the flashlight housing and eventually was hard to turn on with a very precise push and if it sunk low enough it would stop working all together. Next the battery life is good if you don’t use it often but a full night of ID checking for about 3.5 hours clicking that button on and off will last about 1.5-2 nights. On the up side it is small and clips to your pocket nicely. I wear mine on a detachable laniard because it has 2 tiny holes on the button side of the housing where you can feed something through. Brightness is good unless the battery is low. We had one light that even flickered when the batteries got low. But when working well you could read an ID and see the hologram while sitting in a chair from a good 5 ft away. All in all I’d recommend them just know that you may have some casualties due to them just being defective but when they did go out I had no problem forking out more $ to have that functionality again.

Nice little UV lights. Small, very portable, and I used them to cure resin for tooth repair. Worked fine, they do not seem very bright, but they worked great for the resin curing. I kept the light on the resin for several minutes just to be sure but it worked out well. The resin was supposed to cure within 20 seconds, but not having much experience with curing resin, I went much longer, If you are expecting a bright light, it may disappoint, but it is very effective for what I needed it for. Good price for a pack of two, and they each take 1 - AAA battery, of course alkaline is best, lasts longer. Overall, i am very pleased for what I purchased these lights for.

Much smaller than anticipated ! Should have read reviews and complete info , uses 1 AAA battery , Ok to detect pet stained carpet spots in a completely dark room , also able to identify UV stripe on US currency in moderately bright room , build quality 3 out of 5 stars , Probably would not survive bottom of tool bag for long , ok for shirt pocket , surely will be overlooked and go through the wash machine , , will return and apply money towards a larger brighter 2 AAA or AA battery size option. The much more robust and larger 2 AAA size non UV Harbor freight quantum sown for scale comparison , 5 stars so review will be more likely seen , in reality … 2.5 or 3 stars price considered,

Overall I have been very happy with Gearlight products. They all seem to be made very well and I have not had any functional issues from any of their products. The only complaint I have about the GearLight Black Light UV Flashlight S50 is that they are much smaller than what I was anticipating and are not powerful enough to be seen unless it is very dark in the room. We purchased for use during cleaning inspections and unless we go over the area with the light extremely close to the ground and inch by inch, they are not very useful for this use. I think I was expecting the S100 and bought the S50. I wish they offered them in the size of S100 in a rechargeable.

Works well. Form factor is small with a single AAA battery. Would have preferred a 2-AAA model for comfort in an adult hand.

Product details specify 3volts, 2 AAA batteries. See pics. Instead, only a single AAA battery is used. As much as I use mine, I need the 2nd battery so not changing batteries on the go. There is a card inside box that says "Disappointed? We will make it right. No return needed". We will see.
