Makita DTM52Z Li-ion LXT Brushless Multi-Tool - Batteries and Charger Not Included, Blue, 18 V

I’ve just upgraded from a DTM51 that gave loyal service for ten years, and lives on with a new owner. This one is far superior. Vibration is hugely decreased and it just seems better at everything. The blade swap out process is similar to the older one so don’t expect anything special from the star lock system per se. A non-problem has been solved there. If you want faster, smaller, and less vibration, this beauty is for you. But for those reasons only.

Excellent tool , smooth , easy to use

This is a big leap up from the last Makita model. Balance is perfect, the handle grip is a nice size (unlike it's predecessor) and the unit vibration is virtually non existent. However, the two negative aspects of this unit are: the securing pin for the tool is not the best out there especially when your fingers are cold or wet. It is easily lost from on high scaffolding through the board gaps never to be seen again. And the cost of the Star-lock tools are still very high. Overall though this unit is a top class tool just don't lend it out to your mates as they might not give it back it's so good.

Wicked…. A proper piece of kit that does more than what’s on the tin highly recommended…!

Just purchased to replace a wired 240V Bosch Professional GOP 55-36 multi tool because I wanted a cordless model. Purchased because I have other Makita products and am happy with the brand. I was interested to read of the low vibration and noise. Well, it exceeeds my expectations on the vibration front. As I need to cut grout lines and remove tiles intact, this will make a great contribution. But, a little minor but, if it just had a slightly slimmer body at the hand grip I’d have given it a 5 star. The Dewalt does have a slim grip but doesn’t take Starlock blades. That said, it’s as comfortable to hold as my Bosch that it replaces. I’d recommend others to purchase this.

Didn’t realise how much I needed one of these until I got one. Always thought I’d never use it enough but since buying it I’ve used it for everything. It is so easy to change the blades/tool and you can position it at different angles to get access to everything. It has made so many jobs so much quicker and easier. I don’t know how I have managed so long without one.

Brilliant tool, powerful and rapid cutting action. Balanced fits the hand well.

Amazing, ultralight quite, very low vibration and it seems to run on a higher frequency than other multi tools I've used. There is some weight to it, but it feels like a sturdy tool in your hand. Even the generic star lock blades are reliable. Definitely a win for my tool bag.
