The 3m is useful for connecting external displays without extension cords if the display is located farther away than the standard 1 - 1.5 meter leads. Mine has no problems with a Dell monitor.

Cord is stiff
Cord was very stiff, which is why I returned it. I needed something a bit more flexible for my Lenovo laptop.
