it's so easy to order parts
I just have to put in the equipment name and part number choices pop up and I make my selection. Next day the part arrives. our local shops can't compete with this turn around of course it helps that my husband can do these repairs himself

Cheaper than buying replacement pull start
The pull start failed on my lawnmower. Turns out the Pawl friction plate broke. Following youtube, was able to diagnose and repair the problem cheaper than buying a new pull start. Also replaced the Pawl Ratchet too when we replaced the starter pulley. Probably did not need to replace the starter pulley but did it so I would not have to deal with it later. All three parts together was significantly cheaper than a replacement assembly which covered those parts plus a pull rope and metal housing. I replaced the rope with rope that I already had and cut it to size following the youtube video...

Good replacement part...
Briggs and Stratton has had a change in this recoil starter assembly. The new part is smaller.so if you have an older motor the new assembly doesn't fit.... the only option is to buy parts Nd rebuild your old assembly...

Poor quality, product broke on first pull.
Small pin that keeps pawl from over extending broke on first pull. Poor quality. I heard to throw away and got no use from it.
