When I set the timer to 10 hours does the green indicator light keep flashing? Or does the flashing light mean the timer's not set?

Flashing means its working properly.

once the 12 hours are up and it cuts off, does it come back on in 12 hours? I am heading out of town soon and want to make sure.

Can this fit on a normal rimmed aquarium?

According to the feedback and evaluation of other guests, the tanks with the rim may be loose. We have reported it to the factory and we are currently improving this problem. Other buyers' practice is to insert a piece of material, such as wood to hold the gap.
