Wish it wasn't perforated
I didn't realize its pages were perforated, i wish there was a version sans perforation. Paper is good weight and tooth and the binding seems good.

Fine paper, annoying design
I purchased this sketchbook because it was an inexpensive, hardcover, plain sketch book. I liked that it was just black except for the Winsor & Newton log. However, there is a terrible sticker on the front of the book that cannot be removed. The pages inside are perforated, which is fine, but it feels like they could detach very easily. Also, why would you have a hard bound book with detachable pages? The paper seems good for sketching and colored pencils.

I feel cheated
I love the texture of this paper but it’s a bit thin so you can see drawings on either side of the page and the paper warps when glue is applied (see photo). The cover is already starting to lift. I expected a higher quality book from W&N considering that my other products (paint, felt pens) are amazing. It’s a good size for students considering it measures 8.5x11” (I did buy this for class). It’s disappointing

Fine product, covered in goo??
The sketchbook itself is exactly what it should be. However, when I opened the box I found it not packaged and covered in an unidentified waxy substance as well and beat up around the edges. I am a little horrified by the brown ooze. What on earth. The package was still sealed so the sketchbook was covered in stuff when it shipped

Boa relação custo-benefício
Apesar de gramatura leve, o papel suporta aguadas leves e a textura é interessante.

Great for Ink!
The sketchbook arrived with a few issues: a dented bottom, some light smearing, a warped front cover, and a poorly placed sticker. For a brand like Winsor & Newton, I expected a bit more care in packaging. Still, the damage is minor and didn’t affect the usability, so I’m not too bothered. The paper itself is very good; smooth, a bit thin, and slightly textured. I used a Faber-Castell 2H pencil, which came out a bit darker than usual but still looked clean. It’s not the best paper for graphite layering or blending, but it works well enough for sketching. What really stood out is how well it handles ink. I used a Tombow brush pen, and the ink applied very smoothly. No feathering or bleeding, and it didn’t feel like it was drying out my pen, which is something that happens a lot with textured or “dry media” papers. This might be the best sketchbook I’ve used in terms of how it applies ink. It would probably work fine with alcohol markers too, though I personally prefer thinner paper for those. This paper has a bit more texture, but it’s still marker-friendly and doesn’t seem like it would damage your tips the way some “mixed media” sketchbooks do. Overall, despite the packaging flaws, it’s a sketchbook I won’t complain.
