Can this be used to simulate day and night?

because of the remote you would us a timer but only on day on / off

Can I set this to turn on and turn off at a certain time? If you unplug it and plug it back in, do you need the remote to turn it back on?

if on a timer and LED is on and timer shuts off light should shut off and timer come back on LED should turn on

I have a larger squirrel tree frog paludarium (36in deep). I need the light to hit at least 25 inches for lowlight plants. Will this work?

this LED will hit the 18 to 25-inch area and do moss further down. Depending on the types of plants if plants are the thing you're doing I would recommend the Fluval Plant LED. Or if the growth is not doing what you're wanting then add a second unit. This way you're hitting the bottom better

Is this light ok to use in an 18x18x18 enclosure which has dart frogs and plants?

Yes. It will work with an 18x18x18 tank. And the lighting is ok to use with dart frogs and live plants.
