Hi Brandon, It has a fiber reinforced handle with a good quality rubberized plastic coating. I'm sure that is only in the USA market, because I'm living in Europe, and I wasn't found anywhere else just in the USA available pieces. Regards, Otto

If it's a 64oz hammer how can the item weight be 2.45lbs. it seems that 64 divided by 16 = 4 pounds. wtf? unless the "new" pound is not 16 ounces?

I agree with the review of 64oz = 2.45 lbs. What math is that? That review was from 2020 and here it is 2023 and it is still listed the same way. I don't think the math has changed since 2020.

Is the blue grip on the handle rubber or plastic like the rest of the handle, I cant really tell?

It is of a rubber compound of some sort. I does cushion your grip some but it doesn't take the total shock out of the handle when you strike something. It is nice that the handle is epoxied into the head so it doesn't loosen up over time.
