Realistically, how much do these curtains reduce noise from outside? Live above a busy street and need to reduce outside noise!

same noise blocking as a cardboard box...or a trash bag. use your head people. It will block some noise, just not all of it.

What color is the backside of the panel?

Same color on both sides. Regards.

Are the dimensions the dimension of the fabric, or of the opening it should cover with the desired "waves"?

the dimensions are the dimensions of the fabric

What are the dimensions and weight of the package for a curtain 10 ft wide and 9 feet long? I need to take it on a commercial airline.flight.

Package measurement: 14"x14"x2 1/4" Weight: 4.8 pounds. Kind regards.

Good black out curtains

The rose color is just a bit more dusky than it appeared in the photo, but it was close. These work very well as black out curtains. Only a small of light gets in around the outside of the window. I mounted these several inches above the window so minimal light gets in above the window, which I think helps. Curtains are thick and decent quality. The silver grommets slide easily over the curtain rod.
