I purchased the Origin Mini Dehumidifier Recharger and Origin Moisture Absorber in October 2025, and after using it through May 2026, I can confidently say it’s worth the money. The product is hassle-free and works exactly as intended — it effectively absorbs excess moisture and eliminates odour. Operation is simple: when the silica gel beads change from bright orange to dark brown, it’s time to recharge by heating the absorber with the charger. Otherwise, it requires no electricity and runs silently in the background. In our case, it performs exceptionally well in air-conditioned rooms. We typically need to reheat the gels every 2–3 days, with the process taking 2–3 hours depending on humidity levels. I reheat them only when they turn dark brown, and the cycle continues seamlessly.

I have got first a product which was damaged. Returned it and got new one which never worked. The indicator never glows. Crystals never turned orange. Recommend not to purchase.

Staying in a humid city near the sea, and having a lot of camera gear is not at all an easy thing to manage. The excessive humidity is highly dangerous for your gadgets (99% humidity, in my case). Going for dry cabinets was also not a great option for me, due to budget issues. I have a lot of gadgets, and would need at least 2 small/ 1 big dry cabinets. The price for it goes above 13K - 14K easily. So, I decided to go with this rechargeable dehumidifier. The total cost went around 5K, as we need to buy the charging dock separately. Here's what I did: - Got a large air - tight transparent container (around 700/-), kept my cameras and lenses in it, along with this donut + humidity meter. - The humidity fell down from 99% to around 40% in a span of 11 - 12 hours, as it was the first time. The humidity should not go below 40%, as it becomes too dry. Since then, life has been easier. I regularly monitor the humidity, and if it is below 40%, I open the lid of the container, until it reaches 75% - 80%. Then, again I close the lid. After the first time, it takes hardly few hours to reduce the humidity. Overall, a great product. People use it in wardrobes, but I found my own use case for it. If it matches yours, go for it.
