New Star Foodservice 54460 Extra Large (50 Grams) Stainless Steel Sponges Scrubbers, Set of 12

These scrubbers are about twice the size of similar scrubbers available at the grocery store. I received mine in early May and am still using the first half of one a month later and it's still going strong. Since these are so large, I cut the scrubber in half and have been using half of it. It powers through stuck on, burnt on gunk on all my stainless pans. The price is much better than the grocery store. These are about a buck a piece and for how long they last, it's a great deal, Since I cut them in half, they'll last twice as long too. I shouldn't have to order any more for a couple of years. I also like that they are individually wrapped so they don't get tangled together in the package.

Tough. They hold up well under professional grease removal work.

Worked great and came fast

I bought these as an economical alternative to chain link scrubbers to clean gunk from cast iron. I think it was a good choice. 7 bucks vs.20. Yes they will unravel, more like leave a tail or loosen up. But for my use, they're very convenient. At this price I can toss it in the trash when done. In reality, I haven't worn one out, But I don't scrub a lot of pots. I heat up the cast iron and use these to get most of the years of exterior grease off. The stuff that's hard baked on stays, I like that stuff, my iron won't rust, hah! Great for stainless frying pans, spatulas, bachelor cooking cleanup.

Good price ,quality is very good and good size. I use these pads to stuff around my electric pipes to block entrances to mice on my on demand generator to keep mice out. Mice can’t eat these, they don’t rust. Since I used these I have had No Mice problems. Good for camper vehicles also when put in storage. Areas that are small but mice still get in I use these and Gorrilla tape over it to hold the s/s pads in place. Very effective.

The price is good but the are soft and loosely spun. They tend to come apart with little use.

I purchased these mainly because they do not rust. Since I do not have a need for one on a daily basis, a normal scrubbing pad with the soap inside, usually rusts and tears apart after several uses. These however are huge. I took one and cut it in half with kitchen scissors to make it a more comparable size to a "Brillo" or "SOS" other name brand. This meant that this box of 12 pads turned into 24 pads which will take me forever to use. After one use, I realized that they were better than the other brands. Just add a little dish soap to the scrubbing action and you have the same effect of the other pads. These are continuous coils of soft metal so as any pad will, the coils on these pads will snag on rough places such as metal soldering points or screws on pans, but they have lasted a very long time for scrubbing just pots and pans.

These things are much thicker that I thought they would be. A bag of 12 will last us a couple of years at least. Because they are so big, the steel fibers come unwound and uniformed ball it once was, is no more. However you can easily cut them in half so there is not so much to control while scrubbing. While these are great, the steel fibers are still not as wide/thick as was I was looking for. The scrubber on the right is one we've had for over a year. The strands are about twice as thick as this new set. I haven't found another scrubber like it. I don't even remember where we bought it, but I use it to scrub burnt on stuff off of cast iron pans. The new set works too, it's just not as heavy duty & abrasive. Regardless, much much better than anything you're going to find in any grocery store!
