What does self healing mean

The mat doesn't heal itself like you or I. This means the mat won't show any surface cuts even though they are there. The cuts will not hinder your work. This will cut apart if you use a tool that slices through the mat but it would take some extra effort to destroy it in this manner.

How thick is this mat?

Can you cut mat board with it?

Absolutely I is very sturdy and the grid would be useful for keeping everything straight.

Can the mat be rolled?

Yes, the mat is flexible to roll, however, if you are a quilter when a self healing mat is rolled up, it then becomes very difficult to get an even cut because these types of mat work best when laying on flat surfaces during cutting and storing . When the mat is rolled up, it leaves bumps which can make it difficult to have good cutting measurements. I needed a cost effective mat while I was away from home, Amazon delivered the mat on a timely manner, it did the job perfectly fine. I hope this helps.
