Love my Brother Label machine
I have several different tapes for my old Brother label maker (PT-1800) but the one I use the most is RED text on WHITE background. Plus, several years ago, they changed the backing piece from one piece to two pieces split lengthwise which makes it much easier to position long labels. When the backing was one piece, the labels would curl up and sometimes stick to itself before you could apply the label. Now, I remove only one piece completely, loosen the other piece, stick the label onto the target object, and then carefully pull the other piece of the backing off. Works a treat.

Fabric Labels — Great and Helpful
Unfortunately, this Amazon listing is for an assortment of P-Touch label cartridges. I am reviewing the Iron-On fabric labels. These work well. The question is: is this fitted sheet full- or queen-size? And can you tell me without completely unfurling it? I solved that problem by applying P-Touch Iron-On Fabric labels to all of my fitted sheets. One practical note: when you iron the label on, you do not apply the iron directly to the label. You use a “pressing cloth”, typically a thin cotton cloth, an old tee shirt may work well. But, be aware that I have experienced minor transferring of the letters from the label to the pressing cloth, just a very minor bit. Even so, this faint ghost of the print is likely permanent on the pressing cloth, so use some cloth that you don’t mind seeing this on.The description is that these labels are navy-blue type on a white background. The navy-blue is quite dark, almost black, but will lighten a bit with washing.Obviously, don’t attempt these labels on any stretchy fabric. On something like a fitted sheet, apply the label a few inches above the elastic edge. These are only for use on smooth-finish fabrics, no good on terrycloth, for example. And, finally, the fabric must be able to withstand a medium-hot iron, no nylon for example. This is a great capability for labeling on cloth items including clothing, sheets, laundry bags, etc. It really adds a lot of new usefulness to your P-Touch labeler.

Best to use P-touch with P-touch = less waste
Forewarning: Have used other cheaper brands…which in turn creates more waste, i.e., faded print, less usable tape. The other brands may be inexpensive but when you just want to get the job done, you may want to use the product intended for P-touch, originally

holds on... for now
I got that tape to sign my fight gear: gloves, shin guards, head gear, etc. Those things are made of leather and so are not completely smooth. They are mostly black which is why I chose the white on clear option.Since I only put those stickers on my gear this morning it's hard to tell how well it will hold over time and since I'm only allowed one review per item... it will be almost impossible for me to tell if the tape holds on for a longer period of time =/I have bought the brother TZ tape for my label printer before (for many years) and it holds on great on plastic (notebook covers), paper/cardboard (boxes), vinyl (daily planners), etc.I still have moleskin products (everyone knows they're awesome, right?) that have brother TZ tape stickers/labels on them for about 8 years (it's May 23rd 2012 now) and the tape holds on just the way it did on the first day - no glue showing around the edge, no cornesr unsticking (and those notebooks were moved around and thrown into/carried in the backpack many times/for a loooong time over the years).I have also used them (those home printed labels/name tags) to sign my books so that people who borrow them will not forget whose book they have (as it happens if you read a lot).If you're wondering if you should get a brother label printer... just go ahead, they're great. If you're wondering if their clear tape is as good as the white (never tried the color ones) one... it sure seems to be. I just never used their tape for the kind of thing I used it for now before so it's hard to tell =/If I didn't trust them to make a quality product I wouldn't have spent money on that clear tape but than again it's not really ment to sign your sparring gloves, is it?They have clothes-iron-on-tape but that's for cotton (I guess) not leatherSo if anyone is wondering it the white-on-clear tape will be good to sign their MMA sparring gear... I'd just go ahead and buy it ;P

White on Clear is Perfect for Labeling Dark Equipment
As a photographer I have a lot of small clamps and other items (flashes, batteries, mics, transmitters, triggers) that are black. I hate the look of white labels with black text on my nice black stuff. But white letters on clear tape looks extremely professional and allows me to label my equipment so that if I accidentally leave a piece somewhere, I stand a good chance of getting it back. I like that I can get the print really small to get my name and address on a small flash or clamp, and then bigger for tripods and camera cases.

Excellent tapes
They are perfect! I recommend them for using on packing and excellent on bottles. I use them on my cosmetic goods for my small business. No complaints!

Crisp, clean printing and stays put
Bought this for my Mom's temporary stay at a skilled nursing facility where they provided laundry service. The labels work perfectly with my P-touch label maker resulting in a clean, crisp highly legible label that I can cut to size. Applied easily with a dry iron and parchment paper between label and iron. These labels have endured several hot and cold water washes with no peeling; they've remained firmly in place. The initial vibrancy of the ink has dulled (as expected after several washes), but only slightly, the labels are still readable without difficulty. I used a medium font, about 15 letters/spaces per label, and was able to get approximately 40 labels from one cartridge. All things considered, I call that a bargain and SO MUCH NICER than scrawling her name with a fabric marker. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

orginal labels are best for challenging locations like outdoors
Stay stuck, don't fade.Although sometimes I use other makes of label for temporary use if it's for long term, maybe outside I use the genuine article
